Huge cheers for James Milner, who has been superb tonight against his former club. He departs to be replaced by Jordon Ibe.

Oh! Jordan Henderson curls a free-kick through the wall and just past the post. I thought that was in. So did Joe Hart by the looks of it. He barely moved.

This sums up City's night. Aleksandar Kolarov, who came on earlier for Gael Clichy, looks to fire an angled cross into the Liverpool box but slices it horribly into the stand behind the goal. Awful.

A combination of the breeze and Christian Benteke cause Joe Hart problems as he comes forward to punch away a free-kick that is pumped into the box. It is a struggle but the England number one just about manages to get the ball away.

This is just taking the mickey out of City. Off goes Divock Origi and on comes Christian Benteke. Manuel Pellegrini's side reduced to a confidence builder for an out-of-form striker.

Jesus Navas and Adam Lallana shove and barge and slap (a bit) at each other, leading to a booking for the former. Sunday's final and tonight's events have given this contest plenty of spice.

The look of dejection on the faces of the away fans at Anfield says it all. City have been totally outplayed here. Mathematically, they are not out of the title race (especially as many of their rivals are also losing tonight) but they don't look anything like a side capable of winning a league.

Milner fires over again. This could get very messy.
