Comprehensive. Liverpool were great. City were utterly dreadful.

  2. Postpublished at 90+1 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

Oh, Joe Allen has just nearly crowned this Liverpool display with a worldy. He unleashes a shot from way out and it loops over Joe Hart and just onto the roof of the net.

  3. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

You know what, I forgot that Wilfried Bony had even come on. Ne shoots harmlessly and Simon Mignolet saves.

  4. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

Jesus Navas swings in the corner and Dejan Lovren heads clear.

  5. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

City have a late corner. Not that it will make a difference.

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 87 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

Huge cheers for James Milner, who has been superb tonight against his former club. He departs to be replaced by Jordon Ibe.

  7. CLOSE!published at 84 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

Oh! Jordan Henderson curls a free-kick through the wall and just past the post. I thought that was in. So did Joe Hart by the looks of it. He barely moved.

  8. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

This sums up City's night. Aleksandar Kolarov, who came on earlier for Gael Clichy, looks to fire an angled cross into the Liverpool box but slices it horribly into the stand behind the goal. Awful.

A combination of the breeze and Christian Benteke cause Joe Hart problems as he comes forward to punch away a free-kick that is pumped into the box. It is a struggle but the England number one just about manages to get the ball away.

Can Liverpool still make top four?

Mohammad Rizwan: You know what? I just realised that Liverpool can still finish in top 4!!!

Ash Williams: 4th is still on if Liverpool win tonight. 6 points off 4th. Forget West Ham.

"I was going to say Liverpool could score four or five but now Benteke is coming on."

Take a bow Kolo Toure. Sergio Aguero gets goal-side in the box but the defender gets back and takes the ball off him before he can shoot. Class.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

This is just taking the mickey out of City. Off goes Divock Origi and on comes Christian Benteke. Manuel Pellegrini's side reduced to a confidence builder for an out-of-form striker.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 68 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

Jesus Navas and Adam Lallana shove and barge and slap (a bit) at each other, leading to a booking for the former. Sunday's final and tonight's events have given this contest plenty of spice.

  16. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

The look of dejection on the faces of the away fans at Anfield says it all. City have been totally outplayed here. Mathematically, they are not out of the title race (especially as many of their rivals are also losing tonight) but they don't look anything like a side capable of winning a league.

Milner fires over again. This could get very messy.

  17. City are 'too open'published at 21:19 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2016

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

    Mark Lawrenson
BBC football expert on BBC Radio 5 live

"I think by gambling Pellegrini has made City too open, which was always the risk.

"A great one-touch finish from Firmino, but a shocking touch from Otamendi.”

  18. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Liverpool 3-0 Man City

Tonight gets better and better for Leicester. City losing, Tottenham losing, Arsenal losing.

James Milner goes close to a fourth with a shot from the edge of the box that Joe Hart saves one-handed.

    Roberto Firmino

Nothing is going to save City now. They are getting an absolute pasting. Gael Clichy's weak attempt at a tackle allows Adam Lallana to collect on the edge of the box before finding Roberto Firmino, who finishes low into the far corner of the net. City are heading for a third defeat on the trot.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 55 mins

    Liverpool 2-0 Man City

City up their striker quota to three by sending on Kelechi Iheanacho and taking off midfielder Fernandinho. All or nothing for Manuel Pellegrini now.
