Well it looked dangerous, but Memphis Depay continues his disappointing evening by shooting straight into the wall. 

Better from the hosts as a decent passage of play ends up in Juan Mata shooting from 20 yards, Heurelho Gomes is equal to it but the Spaniard wins a free-kick 20 yards from goal. This is dangerous.

Boosted by his fetching mouthguard, the Watford keeper will carry on. The United corner is too deep but Marcus Rashford is on the charge on the left side of the penalty area before the Watford defence smother him.

Here we go, Marcus Rashford is on the ball, he takes it past two defenders and approaches the byline as Heurelho Gomes slides to challenge him. The United forward wins a corner for his efforts as the Watford goalkeeper gets treatment. 

Keep going Odion, it'll come eventually! He finds the ball on the edge of the area, passes out to Etienne Capoue when in actual fact he might have been better placed to shoot. 

United winger Memphis Depay on the surge now, and is crowded out as he reaches the penalty area. He goes down but it doesn't look like a foul. Jesse Lingard looks like he might be coming on, Marcus Rashford has been quiet. Meanwhile Odion Ighalo curls his latest chance wide. Etienne Capoue might have been better placed.

Watford boss. Quique Sanchez Flores, dressed as if he's fresh from the skate park, is cajoling his men on the touchline. They've not won against top-five opposition this season, but now looks as good a chance as any. 

Watford win another corner, and Ben Watson whips it in. Sebastian Prodl heads goalwards at the near post but Marcus Rashford heads clear on the line. A telling contribution from the youngster but maybe not in the box United were hoping for.

You just begin to wonder if Watford will live to regret these chances. Odion Ighalo especially. They've been the better team. 

Watford are in the groove more quickly than their opponents in this half toom. Etienne Capoue, who's been one of the best players so far, lets rip from 25 yards and it is inches over the bar. David De Gea was sprawling.

Loose at the back again from Daley Blind. Almen Abdi is onto the ball, plays it into Odion Ighalo, it's in the air, it takes time for the Watford striker to control and United defenders surround him. That was a let-off.

The corner is played halfway back to the United goal. Why? Easy for the Watford defence and they come out with the ball to some relief. That's half-time. 

This is a foul. Marcus Rojo is deep in the Watford half, wins a free-kick and it leads to a United corner. One added minute. 

Another mix-up at the back as David De Gea has to come rushing from his goal to deny Odion Ighalo. This is not breeding confidence. Moments later Etienne Capoue bursts into the box, tries a trick and beats Daley Blind, who flicks out a foot and could concede a penalty. There looked like contact, Capoue went down but Mike Jones is not bothered. 

United work the ball up the left side, Ander Herrera's cross looks good but it's too deep for Anthony Martial, who wasn't far from it. Didn't look too far from the goal either. 

United have had more of the ball, but Watford have easily had the best chances.
