Another chance for Odion Igahlo after a mix-up further up field by United left-back Marcus Rojo. The Nigerian bursts forward, Troy Deeney is in the middle but he goes for goal on the angle, and David De Gea saves. Deeney is furious with his team-mate and rightly so.

Memphis Depay hasn't been at the races tonight. Another chance to cross and he cannot fine a team-mate. Almen Abdi then fires over from distance for the visitors. Quique Sanchez Flores will be happy with this so far.

Space in the midfield for Manchester United's Ander Herrera, he has a chance to go forward quickly but it breaks down. United still have the ball and are building patiently. This is like the old days! 

Tell you what, strikers that can hold the ball up when under pressure are worth their weight in gold and Watford have two of them who can do it very well. Makes a massive difference to the midfield and defence. Marcus Rashford (remember him?) wins a free-kick deep in the Watford half. Memphis Depay takes but Heurelho Gomes comes out to take easily. 

Quite muted inside Old Trafford tonight as Watford's fans break out into a chorus of "Is this a library?" Right now.....er

Odion Ighalo might be Watford's top scorer but he's scored only one league goal in 2016. Down the other end, Anthony Martial ends up with the ball at his feet in the penalty area, but his sidefoot shot lacks any menace and Heurelho Gomes is well behind it. 

Watford continue to link midfield and attack with some precision. Etienne Capoue whips the ball in from the left, Troy Deeney flicks on and Odion Ighalo turns and misses by about a foot. Best chance of the game. 

Ben Watson plays it square along the edge of the box and Jose Holebas's shot is blocked by Marcus Rojo. The visitors are creating plenty.

Watford skipper Troy Deeney looks like he's been whacked on the head. But he's a streetwise sort and carries on. He plays a quick one-two with Etienne Capoue and as he bears down on goal is fouled by Tim Fosu-Mensah. Booked.  Free-kick is in a decent position deep on the left side of the penalty area. 

Valon Behrami is full of beans tonight and his pressing has been an early feature. He wins the ball and plays it forward to Odion Ighalo, who is tackled very well by Tim Fosu-Mensah. He looks decent. United get it forward early and Memphis Depay thinks he's clipped on the edge of the box but replays show there was nothing doing. 

United break clear and win a free-kick deep on the left. Juan Mata takes, it's headed clear and Morgan Schneiderlin volleys back towards goal and, I tell you what, that hasn't missed by much.

Mistake by Daley Blind, he gives it straight to Odion Ighalo about 40 yards out in the centre of the pitch. Danger, but Watford's top scorer attempts to shoot early and it's an easy save for David De Gea. 

This time, the Manchester United youngster battles it out with Troy Deeney and concedes a free-kick. Could be a contest to keep your eyes on!

Watford's players all look comfortable on the ball, they are taking their time to pass the ball around but Tim Fosu-Mensah wins it with a decent sliding tackle and United are away. Unfortunately, Memphis Depay lines up a shot and it's out for a throw in. That's not an error!

Decent start by the visitors here. Manchester United yet to find rhythm but both sides have had chances. You might call it open. 

Etienne Capoue wins a free-kick for Watford. The ball is delivered by Ben Watson to the back post, a bit of head tennis ends up in Troy Deeney attempting an overhead kick but he boots Marcus Rojo in the head instead. Foul. Another Watford attack wins a corner, it's a tad deep but there were players ready to pounce. 

Chance for Manchester United and Anthony Martial wastes it. A corner is worked backwards with Marcos Rojo delivering it to the back post but the French youngster cannot get a decent contact on his header. Plenty of finger pointing in the Watford defence. 

Now that is what I call star-spotting! 

The hosts keep up the pressure, lurking on the edge of the penalty area, and when Daley Blind delivers a good low cross, Watford left-back Jose Holebas is quite fortunate to stab it back to his keeper. He didn't mean that. 

The ball is switched out to the left flank after a strong run by Daley Blind as another Dutchman, Memphis Depay wins a corner. Blind takes it but it's too deep.
