  4. 'Pep nearly joined City as a player'published at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Former Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce reveals Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola almost joined City when he was in charge between 2005-07.

"He trained with us for a few days. He had been playing in the middle east, and was looking for a contract, so he spent a few days with us.

"Smashing fella but, back then, I didn't realise he would be a top manager. We didn't have anything on the playing side but if i knew how good he would be as a manager I would have given him my job. Top man, top manager, what an acquisition for City."

Scuffed? That is incredibly harsh. He took a touch to kill the ball and one to effortlessly steer a shot into the net with the outside of his right foot.

"I can only think Aaron Cresswell was in Jordan Ayew's face, what he did was just madness, especially when you think where Aston Villa are in the league as well. A red card was the last thing Remi Garde needed."

GOAL - Crystal Palace 1-1 Bournemouthpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2016

    Marc Pugh (34 mins)

Like a svelte Matthew Le Tissier, Marc Pugh scores a wonderful equaliser for Bournemouth! He gets the ball in to his feet, edge of the area, surrounded by Palace defenders but a body swerve here and a shimmy there and he buys enough space to craft a low shot into the corner. Fine goal!
