Just seen a replay of the penalty save, not only did Charlie Daniels see his effort saved, but he might well have put off Simon Francis as he was one of three Bournemouth players to try and pounce on the loose ball. Communication, lads.

...Bryan Oviedo's inswinger is headed behind for another corner. Tom Cleverley takes it, but this time Tommy Elphick heads clear.

Now Everton have a corner. End-to-end stuff...

Charlie Daniels takes the penalty, trying to find the corner but Joel Robles guesses the right way to make the save before the rebound is fired over.

Everton's players rush to congratulate Robles. Fantastic save.

What is James McCarthy thinking!? A corner comes in and he sticks out his arm to control the ball. He quickly tries to retract it but too late. Penalty given...

What a ball by Juan Iturbe. 

The pacey forward wipes out the Everton midfield with a razor sharp pass to Dan Gosling on the edge of the area. He turns, takes a touch to get the ball into the are and Phil Jagielka sticks out a boot. Gosling tumbles, the ball is cleared. No penalty, the correct call too as Jagielka's tackle was perfectly timed.

Sylvain Distin may be 38 but he's just outpaced Aaron Lennon. The Everton winger tries to beat Distin with a neat flick but the Bournemouth defender shows his experience to hold off Lennon and get to the ball and clear.

Everton defenders back off as Junior Stanislas rampages forward from midway inside the Toffees' half. He's given sight of goal and shoots, but the ball flies over.

Moments later, Romelu Lukaku powers away from Tommy Elphick, gets into the area but shoots at Adam Federici. 

This game is starting to open up.

Bournemouth are really exposing the right channel in the first half...

Matthew Cliffe: Good start by Everton but need to make possession count. But how many times have we said that this season!

Aron Moore: Don't know another team who can pass the ball left or right as good as Everton can.

Great from Ross Barkley. 

The midfielder uses his strength to shrug off Joshua King, before somehow working some space for himself despite being surrounded by three Bournemouth players to find James McCarthy. The attack breaks down, but Barkley has been very bright so far.

"Lukaku is an outstanding talent, but Everton are getting into the positions without feeding him."

Hmm. We are still waiting for this game to come to life. Everton have plenty of possession but are not doing much with the ball to worry Bournemouth, who look lively on the counter.

Dan Gosling then gets back into his box to block a James McCarthy shot, the ball bobbles behind for a corner which Tom Cleverley takes. Comes to nothing.
