Good point made by Martin Keown as Bournemouth look to use the pace of Josh King to catch out the Everton defence. The forward chases one ball over the top and is away, but the offside flag goes up. Very tight, though, he might just have been on.

Josh King, playing as Bournemouth's lone striker, hasn't had much of a chance to get on the ball in the opening stages and when he does he shows a bit of rustiness, overhitting a ball into space for Junior Stanislas and Everton are able to shepherd the ball out of play.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Everton

A very good start by Everton. They are pressing Bournemouth back into their own half and dominating possession.

After one attack is repelled by the Cherries, Everton restart from the back as Phil Jagielka lofts the ball towards Romelu Lukaku, who peels away from the defence but does so too soon and is flagged for offside.

West Brom midfielder Chris Brunt on being hit on the face by a coin thrown by a supporter at the Madejski Stadium at the end of the game:

"I was walking towards our supporters at the end, and they thought it was OK to throw a coin at their own players. I'm disgusted. If they want to come forward and say they don't like what they've seen then that's fine. Fans are frustrated we were 1-0 up and lost. They paid a lot of money to come, but a small minority spoilt it. There were young kids there. I was absolutely disgusted and ashamed."

A lung-busting run from Ross Barkley as he races into space as Romelu Lukaku holds up the ball midway inside the Bournemouth area. The striker plays the ball just ahead of his team-mate, but Barkley's shot is poor and easily collected by Adam Federici.

An early opportunity for Everton as they win a free-kick on the left.

Tom Cleverley stands over it, raising his hand to his team-mates gathered in the box. A few nods of acknowledgement from the Everton players in the area, before they watch the ball sail well over their heads and out. Poor free kic.

Ex Everton manager on BBC Match of the Day live

On Ross Barkley: "He was a really talented young player coming through the Academy, and looking at him I thought he was the closest I'd seen to Bryan Robson, a real box to box player. Now he's more like a proper number 10, he's added goals to his game."

The floodlights are on as dusk settles in, the crazy light show is over but its done the job in terms of building excitement. The Vitality Stadium is bouncing.

Not too many of the fans in the stands will have seen Bournemouth reach the FA Cup quarter-finals. They haven't progressed that far since 1957.

There's some sort of bizarre light show going as we wait for the teams to come out. If you have ever seen Close Encounters of the Third Kind, it is kinda like that moment when they are trying to communicate with the aliens.

    Bournemouth v Everton (17:15 GMT)

    Steve Wilson
BBC Match of the Day commentator at Vitality Stadium

"Few who saw Bournemouth's Premier League game against Everton back in November will want to miss this one. It finished 3-3, with Everton getting their third goal in the 95th minute only for Bournemouth to equalise in the 98th.

"This is the home side's first fifth round FA Cup tie since 1989 - but historical landmarks have been coming thick and fast for the Cherries over the last 12 months.

"If Everton lose this tie, their season will peter out into an attempt to finish in the top eight of the Premier League - not exactly the stuff of which Gwladys Street dreams are made."
