    Potent stuff so far.

Liverpool are starting to turn the screws with a period of pressure.

Nathaniel Clyne - taking off where he left off for England - scampers down the right, but there is no-one in the middle to meet his inviting cross.

Christian Benteke, Liverpool's second most expensive signing ever, is out injured, but may not have made the bench anyway.

Jordan Henderson tees up a free-kick out on the right with all the big lads up from the back.

His delivery is behind the main cavalry charge, but runs through to Philippe Coutinho at the far post.

The Brazilian's snap shot on the swivel is well-hit but straight into the thigh of a cowering defender.

Tottenham give Jurgen Klopp's side a taste of his own gegenpress medicine as Kyle Walker nips in in front of Alberto Moreno to steal possession.

His pass to the on-bombing Son Heung-min is overcooked however and the opening is gone.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Sky Sports: “We have developed over the last two months and have spent more time in dangerous zones on the pitch. We haven’t scored as many as we would like and conceded too many, but with all the sessions we had this week with those not on international duty, they were great.

"Many of the players who did play for their international teams only played one game, so it's been a nice international break and the players are re-charged.”

A huge flag is being passed around Anfield bearing the message "Liverpool FC - 18 Times" in reference to the number of titles the club have claimed.

Spurs have not won the title since their double-winning season 55 years ago but they have not had many better chances of returning the crown to White Hart Lane than they have this season.

Leicester City are in pole position with that five-point lead ahead of tonight's meeting with Liverpool - but manager Mauricio Pochettino was in buoyant mood ahead of the game. He can sense his team could break that cycle of title failure.

Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"This is a massive game, a game-changer. If Spurs can pull three points out of the bag this evening it'll put massive pressure on Leicester tomorrow. It'll put such a pressure on the Foxes if Tottenham win at Anfield."

Always fun deciphering the pre-match tunnel body language and quirks.

Dejan Lovren and Hugo Lloris - former team-mates at French side Lyon - exchange a quick embrace , while Philippe Coutinho has carried a young baby, presumably his own, down to pitchside.

It can be difficult to organise childcare, but I think that is going to hinder him a little come kick-off.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper David James is in the crowd and the teams are in the tunnel.

    Almost go-time.

Leicester may have been 5000-1 outsiders for the title at the start of the season,, external but Tottenham were not exactly bothering the top of the bookies' blackboards at 150-1.

BBC Sport's resident stats superbrain Chris Collinson has been looking at some of the other numbers around Spurs' title challenge and uncovered that this Tottenham team would be the youngest Premier League champions ever if they lift the big pot.

Leicester play Southampton tomorrow, meaning that this is the only occasion in the next month that Spurs will play their match BEFORE their title rivals.

Now is the time if Tottenham are to turn the psychological thumbscrews on Leicester.

Claudio Ranieri's happy band have shown no sign of vertigo just yet, but with every match the tension climbs another notch.

If Champions League football is going to be on the menu at Anfield next season, what is Liverpool's best chance of securing that seat at the top table?

A late surge from the middle of the Premier League pack?

Taking down a scintillating Borussia Dortmund team en route to Europa League glory?

Or will Anfield have to accept some slightly less-famous European nights again next campaign?

"Clear skies over Anfield now after a lot of rain today - in readiness for a fixture that could do much to shape the dramatic Premier League finale.

"The onus falls heavily on Spurs here today. If they win they will pile pressure on Leicester City ahead of their home game against Southampton tomorrow by closing the gap to two points. If they lose it will give the Foxes the opportunity to strike a potentially decisive blow at The King Power Stadium."

What will Monday morning bring for Tottenham fans?

Best-case scenario: two points off leaders Leicester and the Fox hunt is in full cry as Spurs chase a first title in 55 years.

Worst-case scenario: eight points off the top and the red half of north London lurking just three points back and with a game in hand.

There will be more crunch to this season's title run-in than a busy afternoon at the breakers' yard, but this afternoon is another massive test of Tottenham's title hopes.
