    Fiorentina 0-0 Tottenham

Ben Davies scampers away down the left as Tottenham attack again, he slams the ball towards the area but hits it with too much power and it drifts towards the opposite touchline. Kieran Trippier keeps the ball in play, but it is eventually worked back to keeper Michel Vorm.

Not a great deal of quality on show yet, but so far so good for Tottenham.

    Fiorentina 0-0 Tottenham

Slow, patient build-up from Tottenham, who are keeping their shape superbly.

The visitors suddenly explode into life when Kieran Trippier finds some space on the right and he plays a quick ball behind the home defence for Nacer Chadli, but the Spurs man had drifted offside.

"Both sides are just sussing each other out at the moment. Neither have really come out of the traps but when Tottenham have started to press I am not convinced by Fiorentina at the back."

Very cagey start from both sides, who are just really probing for weaknesses.

When Tottenham do get the ball, Fiorentina drop back quickly, leaving just Maura Zarate anywhere near the Spurs half.

First corner of the game, and it goes Fiorentina's way as as Mauro Zarate's cross is blocked. The ball is driven into the area, but the whistle goes for a foul inside the area.

    Fiorentina 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham will be happy that one player who absolutely tore them to shreds in this game last season is not in this Fiorentina side - Mo Salah.

The former Chelsea winger now plays for Roma, with Dortmund's Jakub Blaszczykowski playing in his position tonight.

No chances so far, although Dele Alli breezes past several Fiorentina players down the flank. He could be key tonight.

It is far from a packed ground as the two teams come out onto the pitch, a few thousand would be my guess.

    Almost time for kick off.

Almost time for kick off. There's a very jovial anthem being played around the Stadio Arternio Franchi. Lovely stuff.

You can listen to that, and commentary on the game, via BBC Radio London. Click the live coverage tab at the top of this page.

The Stadio Artemio Franchi is the venue for tonight's game.

I went to search for more information about the ground, but got sidetracked by the top suggested search - Stadio Artemio Franchi UFO.

Apparently a 'cigar shaped' aircraft hovered above the stadium when a reserve match was being played there back in 1954.

I wonder if we will be in for a close encounter of the football kind tonight...

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BT Sport: "We are sure we have a strong squad. It is not important who plays, the whole team always try to play in our normal way and with our philosophy.

"Both teams are different to when we played last year. We were very focused on the Capital One Cup final. They have a new coach and play a different style, we expect a tough game."

Mauricio Pochettino may well want to win every competition Tottenham are in, but for them to do that in the Europa League they will have to overcome a Fiorentina side that got the better of them at the same stage of the competition last season.

Spurs drew 1-1 at White Hart Lane in the first leg, and then lost 2-0 in the second.

Should Tottenham try to win every competition?

Good to see so much desire for Spurs to go out and win every competition they are in.
