You probably know this, but both teams are on a torrid run of form. Everton have lost three successive league matches, Watford four. Indeed, the Hornets have won just two of their 12 league matches since the turn of the year.

    Simon Brotherton
    Match of the Day commentator

"Both clubs are just a fortnight away from playing in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, but have seen their league form tail off badly.

"They've managed only one win in 10 between them in the league in recent weeks, each losing four of the last five.

"Watford are having real problems scoring - managing only one goal in their last five league games.

"Everton have lost the last couple of games without finding the net but have only been beaten twice away from home all season."

    Watford v Everton (15:00 BST)

Watford have no fresh injury concerns for the visit of Everton.

Midfielder Valon Behrami is available again after missing last week's defeat at Arsenal through illness.

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry returns after missing his side's last two matches through suspension.

Full-back Leighton Baines is set to be included after apologising for his comments about the team's lack of chemistry but Steven Pienaar and Leon Osman are doubts.

    Watford v Everton (15:00 BST)

Last but certainly not least of the 15:00 BSTers is Watford v Everton.

The newly promoted Hornets will be delighted with their season, although having almost secured Premier League status they've clicked the snooze button - four defeats in the last four games.

And Everton? On 38 points when the fans would have expected better. They've lost their last three games and any momentum they might have had has disappeared like a chicken at a Nando's farm.

"Confidence is something we need to regain with a good performance and getting back to winning ways. It's as simple as that. We need to simplify it," said Toffees boss Roberto Martinez.

    John Roder
    Match of the Day commentator

"To say that quite a lot has happened at Swansea and Chelsea since they drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the season is a bit of an understatement.

"Jose Mourinho and Garry Monk have both departed, and while Chelsea know Antonio Conte is to be their new manager, we don't know who'll be guiding the Swans come next August.

"If, in the battle of the interim managers, Francesco Guidolin can inflict a first Premier League defeat on Guus Hiddink, it will go a long way to securing the Swans' Premier League safety."

Swansea forward Andre Ayew has shaken off an ankle problem that has seen him miss the last three games.

But midfielder Leon Britton and defender Jordi Amat are both struggling with back problems and may not be fit.

Chelsea will be without suspended striker Diego Costa, and Loic Remy, who suffered a groin injury last weekend.

John Terry (Achilles), Eden Hazard (hip/groin), and Nemanja Matic (leg) will also miss out on the visit to Swansea.

    Swansea v Chelsea aka 15th v 10th.

With a new manager for next season announced this week - Antonio Conte - the Blues are pretty much in cruise mode until the end of the season.

They are highly unlikely to finish in a Champions League spot and have a slim chance of a place in the Europa League.

But look here folks... the Blues have not lost any of their last 15 league matches - the longest unbeaten run of any team in the Premier League this season. Let's see if they can keep it up until May.

The Swans are unbeaten since 12 March - less impressive.

Ed: I was once playing in goal down at the local park as a seven-year-old with my family and my dad hit a shot so hard that it broke my arm. I went back to school on Monday to discover my best friend had also broken his arm playing football!

Ronald: Smashed a window on a school residential with a monster slide tackle.

Jim: I was a teacher on playground duty. A stray football crossed my path, perfect chest and volley height, couldn't resist. Result: thunderball straight into the cheeks of an unsuspecting pupil.

    Southampton v Newcastle (15:00 BST)

    Guy Mowbray
BBC Match of the Day commentator

"The bizarre business of football was demonstrated this week by Newcastle's publication of healthy year-end financial results - wisely accompanied by a morose statement acknowledging that 'results on the pitch' are of greater concern.

    "Yep, just a bit.

"At least after sit-downs with several of his players, Rafa Benitez insists 'they realised the situation and they want to fight'.

"In fairness, they have done in all three of his games in charge - without being good enough to win.

"Southampton weren't good enough at Leicester last week, even if angry manager Ronald Koeman blamed key decisions."

Southampton striker Shane Long will return from a knee problem.

However, Steven Davis has been ruled out with an ankle injury, which could sideline him for up to three weeks.

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is expected to recall Aleksandar Mitrovic to his starting line-up after the striker scored twice last weekend.

Jack Colback is out through suspension, while defenders Fabricio Coloccini and Paul Dummett are expected to miss out.

Are Magpies fans resigned to playing the second tier next season?

It's not so bad down there. They did have a great season when good old Chris Hughton was in charge - remember those heady days?

There is now a six-point gap between themselves and Norwich in 17th after last week's defeat, with seven games left.

Today they play the Saints who they have failed to defeat in their last five league meetings.

"Everybody will say, 'Oh, Newcastle will be relegated', but that is normal when you see the table. At the same time, I can see the players changing in training," said manager Rafael Benitez, while packing his suitcase.

    John Motson
BBC Match of the Day commentator at Selhurst Park

"On New Year's Day, Palace lay fifth in the table, 10 places above Norwich, but their run of 14 games without a victory has seen them plummet down the table. Now just three points separate these teams and that gap could disappear on Saturday.

"While the Eagles continue to search for an elusive league win in 2016, the Canaries' spirits will be high after getting two wins from two, just when they needed them.

"However, Norwich have lost six of their last seven away games, while Palace have lost six on the bounce at Selhurst Park and I see this being a low-scoring relegation scrap, decided by one goal.

"Expect a real battle between two teams still desperately scrambling for points."

Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham could make his first appearance since 1 March after returning to training following a thigh injury.

Yohan Cabaye is also fit to return after missing last week, but Emmanuel Adebayor remains a doubt with a knock.

Russell Martin is expected to be fit for Norwich after a minor knock ruled him out of the 3-2 victory against Newcastle last Saturday.

The Canaries' only definite absentee is Alex Tettey who has a long-term injury.

Is this the day Crystal Palace win their first match of 2016?

Newcastle and Sunderland will be hoping so.

Palace remain without a league win since 19 December - a time when if you mentioned "Panama Papers" the response would be "have you tried WHSmith?"

But this could be their day. The stats are in their favour. Norwich have not won at their gaff for nearly 20 years.

Victory for the Canaries - a third straight - coupled with defeats for the Magpies and the Black Cats this weekend, would surely mean that the Anglian club can look forward to a £100m boost to the bank balance.
