    Aston Villa 0-0 Bournemouth

A sparsely populated Villa Park because of a fans' protest which sees them not arrive in their seats until the seventh minute.

Those who are there have seen the home side have the best chance so far, as Idrissa Gana Gueye strikes an effort over the bar from the edge of the area.

    Shane Long (4 mins)

Schoolboy defending? There's plenty of school teams who would take umbrage at that description as Newcastle give up a terrible early goal.

Shane Long plays a one-two with Graziano Pelle but the defending is so half-hearted it really beggars belief. Long canters into the area, Steven Taylor has the turning circle of a North Sea oil rig and Long walks past him before toe-poking in.

    Rubbish.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:03 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Southampton 0-0 Newcastle

First chance of the afternoon comes for the hosts as Graziano Pelle gets on to the end of a header from a corner but he can only head straight at Karl Darlow in the Newcastle net.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Norwich

Norwich are wearing a particularly unattractive combo of their three green and yellow kits this afternoon, the shorts have no place going with that shirt! A Norwich win could relegate Aston Villa but also drag Palace right into the mire.

It's Palace who make the fastest start though, forcing a few corners.

  8. What do Villa need to do?published at 14:55 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Aston Villa

After a woeful season, Aston Villa can be relegated from the top flight this afternoon.

The easiest way to sum it up is: if Norwich get a better result at Crystal Palace than Villa manage at home to Bournemouth, then it's hello Championship to Villa Park.

    Five minutes til kick-off.

Rezaa Sait: I just realized that there's a possibility of three London clubs featuring in the Champions League next season. Wow.

McInnery: Liverpool could do with such a strong centre forward as Carroll who is unplayable by virtually any defender in EPL...err...

Raj Sidhu: I reckon if you told Arsenal fans they'd be above Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City at the end of the season, they would have taken it.

  13. 'Do Arsenal deserve title?'published at 14:40 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

    Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score

"The turning point for me was when the goal was disallowed, Manuel Lanzini’s goal was onside.

"Arsenal let two goals slip. If you lose a two-goal lead at this stage in the race, do you deserve to win the title?"

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    West Ham 3-3 Arsenal

All over at Upton Park, what a game that was.

Andy Carroll's hat-trick for West Ham gains a point for the home side, who came back from two behind.

You would feel that is Arsenal's slim title hopes now over. Arsene Wenger shakes Slaven Bilic's hand and storms down the tunnel, the Frenchman is not happy.

Full reaction from that match to come.

There's also plenty of action across Europe today as Barcelona bid to end the unlikeliest of losing streaks.

Barnsley, the only team outside the top six with realistic promotion hopes, are at home to lowly neighbours Chesterfield - who are four places, but only two points, above the relegation zone.

Blackpool face fellow strugglers Colchester, while 22nd-placed Doncaster go to Bury. Shrewsbury, also in the relegation mix, are at sixth-placed Millwall. Fleetwood go to Southend.

Fourth-placed Gillingham are at Sheffield United, and Bradford - in fifth - host freefalling Swindon.
