Ouch! At least it wasn't former Liverpool, Southampton and Brighton midfielder Jimmy Case himself who took the shot - renowned for his powerful efforts.

Simoney, Sussex: A very powerful shot from John Byrne hit me in the stomach during Jimmy Case's testimonial. Actually required a visit to the doctors!!

Chris, Swansea: A friend once scored a screaming volley on our rain-sodden school yard, only to realise the ball had left an almost perfectly circular, but muddy imprint on a fuming Mr Daniels, the Maths teacher!

Charlie: I once got knocked out by a shot which went horribly wide of the pile of jumpers, it hit me right between the eyes!

We are teaming up with the Danny Baker Show on BBC Radio 5 live, where today's topic is 'What a wayward shot has been known to hit'.

Have you ever been hit by a shot? Or smashed something valuable with a powerful effort? Let us know.

Aston Villa v Bournemouth (15:00 BST)

    Steve Wilson
BBC Match of the Day commentator

"All the fight has long gone; only the final, stinking few breaths of Villa's awful season remain. If they get a worse result against Bournemouth than Norwich get at Crystal Palace, then they will be relegated.

"Many people have played a part in Villa's demise - and protests at the absent owner Randy Lerner are expected again on Saturday.

"This dreadful team seems to have been assembled on a blueprint last used by Dr Frankenstein - roughly grafting together dubious body parts that have long since seen better days, in the hope that they might somehow function as a whole."

Gabriel Agbonlahor has a virus and has been left out of the Aston Villa squad for the second successive match - he was suspended by Villa last week.

Villa will also be without Alan Hutton through suspension, but Ciaran Clark is available again after a calf injury.

Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe has been ruled out for up to four weeks with a hamstring strain.

Adam Smith is a major doubt with a hernia problem, while Harry Arter misses out with an Achilles problem.

Long-term absentee Callum Wilson is back in training and could return before the end of the season.

Before we start the West Ham v Arsenal bantz, let's look ahead to the 15:00 BST fixtures.

Starting with a team whose fans will probably be enjoying a pie at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium next season - Aston Villa.

Defeat at home to Bournemouth on Saturday combined with Norwich City avoiding defeat would see Villa drop out of the Premier League for the first time.

"We're bottom but we need to put in a performance for our supporters to get them back onside," said interim boss Eric Black.

Even if they played like Barca, the damage has been done.

    Hearts

Staying with Friday, Aberdeen suffered a bit of a blip in their challenge for the Premiership title after losing 2-1 to Hearts.

"For Hearts, it was an important win after two recent losses. For Aberdeen, a catastrophe, purely and simply," writes the BBC's Tom English.

Joe: When I was 12 I smashed my friend's dad's greenhouse and decided to cover it with paper covered in Tip-ex, did not go down well.

Alan, Somerset: I was playing football in a park (next to a sign saying "no ball games") and I smacked a sweet volley which flew horribly wide of our makeshift goal posts and hit an elderly woman square on the backside as she bent over a pram to tend to her grandchild. Rather than face the music, I ran off.

And is the race over for Villa?

Stay here for all the build-up and more.

...so glad I got through that without any National puns.
