Looking at it for about the 20th time, Andre Wisdom does get a flick of the ball. The problem is his foot flicks off it and follows through to catch Fabio Borini quite aggressively. A tiny margin and as I say, he does get a tiny flick on the ball.

    Go on, I'll go there...

There wasn't a lot of Wisdom to that challenge.

    I'll get my coat.

If ever a half of football was tinged with that relegation feel it was that one.

Fast, frenetic, at times clumsy and desperate. Norwich in their defence started brightly and almost led through a Younes Kaboul own goal.

But if you've just joined us, a clumsy Andre Wisdom tackle on Fabio Borini allowed the Italian to net from the spot.

Hard to say if it was deserved. What we can say is it's a big, big goal.

    "FABI, FABIO, FABI, FABIO..."

The away fans are suddenly sensing safety, singing their hearts out.

As their side defend a free-kick delivery for what seems like the 1,000th time in the half, it looks like they'll have a half-time advantage.

Sam Allardyce is deep in conversation with Duncan Watmore.

That's clever. Now they have the lead he can bring the free-running youngster on at the break and it's a perfect weapon for counter-attack football.

Fabio Borini fires over the bar by about 20 feet. He's in confident mood.

"I thought Borini had lost the ball but Wisdom has missed the ball. Anywhere else on the pitch it is a free-kick so it is a penalty."

So how can Norwich respond. Make no mistake there is a quiet lapping over Carrow Road now.

If Sunderland can see this lead out until half-time it will be massive for them. We will have two added minutes.

"It came out of nothing. It was a needless, silly challenge. Wisdom showed no wisdom in the box.”

Looking at the penalty incident again it's clumsy. Andre Wisdom stays up on his feet but his challenge is just inaccurate and he kind of stamps down on Borini. Andre Marriner was close to the incident and made his mind up quickly.

    What a time to score.

A sweet penalty by Borini. He goes at it right footed and it curls away from the keeper and into the corner. Borini shot across his body nicely and wheeled away in celebration.

Oh my word, the relegation scrap gets interesting. It's Andre Wisdom on Fabio Borini, a huge scream from the Italian and we have a penalty.

Is there contact, yes. What's strange about this is Wisdom didn't slide in or get desperate, it's an upright challenge and he just follows through a bit.

One thing I respect about Lee Cattermole is no matter what he does, his shirt never becomes un-tucked from his shorts.

"Jarvis goes down very easy. If he stays up he is one-on-one with Cattermole and you have to fancy his chances there."

A home penalty shout but there's no chance. Dieumerci Mbokani won the flick on, Matt Jarvis gave chase and Lee Cattermole challenged him. It was a push at best but nothing in it.

It's safe to say Sunderland like attacking down the right through Fabio Borini so far...

The first bit of football we have seen from Sunderland and Norwich were lucky it was only Lee Cattermole trying to finish in the box. He's not one for finding the net at all.

It was his pass which released Fabio Borini and he took off down the right to fire a cross in. The Cattermole volley was all wrong, high and wide.

The wonderfully named Wahbi Khazri is booked for a hack on Gary O'Neil.

Khazri. It's like a cross between a chocolate bar Willy Wonka would make and some form of fancy sushi.

Stephen Hay: Brilliant save from Manone, saved an own goal. Lots of huffing and puffing but the only chance so far. Sums teams up.

Paul Collins: Neither of these 2 will be missed if they go down.

"I would say Norwich have edged it. Mannone has been the busier of the two keepers but you never know, one quick break from Sunderland, I think Defoe has the better of the central defenders."
