Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "The players, also the manager and his staff, have been frustrated because we were not consistent this season.
"When you have to line up every week another team because of injuries, it is difficult to make a consistent team-building process.
"But still we are in the race for the first positions in the league and still we are in the FA Cup so I am very happy that we can do that."
Man Utd v Aston Villa (15:00 BST)
Bastian Schweinsteiger has managed 13 Premier League starts this season for Manchester United. But it appears as though that will be his lot for this campaign.
The 2014 Germany World Cup winning midfielder, 31, tore a knee ligament while training for last month's friendly against England.
"I don't think Schweinsteiger shall play this season," said United boss Louis van Gaal. "Maybe he is prepared for the European Championship, I cannot predict.
"It is possible, but then that is also in our favour because then he is fit for the new competition."
Norwich 0-3 Sunderland
Sunderland are now a point behind Norwich, with a game in hand. They'll be very confident of being the side to drag themselves out of the mire now.
Delia claps up in the stands, but her eyes tell the story. This is a crushing loss for the Canaries.
Duncan Watmore
Game over. Sunderland seal a massive win in the battle against the drop. Duncan Watmore is played in by Seb Larsson and he squeezes his shot in from a tight angle. Cue the exodus of home fans. The Black Cats are alive and kicking.
The season hasn't even finished yet, but Manchester United are already in business in the transfer market.
United have reached an agreement with Swiss club FC Zurich to sign highly rated 16-year-old forward Nishan Burkart.
Nothing has been signed yet but it is anticipated the youngster will join United in the summer.
A number of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, had been linked with Burkart.
Everton v Southampton (15:00 BST)
Alistair Mann
BBC Match of the Day commentator at Goodison Park
"Despite next weekend's FA Cup semi-final, Everton really need a pick-me-up. With just one win in their last seven league games - against Aston Villa - they could do with a psychological boost, particularly in front of their own supporters.
"Normally so secure at Goodison Park, eight visiting sides have already emerged victorious - on only four occasions have Everton won, three of which were against the current bottom trio.
"The significance of a positive display this weekend can't therefore be underestimated.
"Southampton by contrast will arrive full of confidence - their only defeat in five was a narrow one at Leicester.
"With a top-six finish and European qualification on their agenda, this is sure to be a highly competitive duel."
Man Utd v Aston Villa (15:00 BST)
Simon Brotherton
Match of the Day commentator at Old Trafford
"This is a fixture Villa have traditionally struggled in over the years even when they have put a decent team on the field, never mind this year's awful lot.
"Manchester United have lost only one of the last 40 league meetings between the teams and that was by a single goal back in 2009.
"United were well beaten at Tottenham last Sunday but will be buoyed by their midweek FA Cup success at West Ham as they look to keep the pressure on fourth-placed Manchester City by winning this one convincingly.
"Aston Villa could be down before the match even kicks off depending on whether Norwich get anything from the lunchtime game against Sunderland. But we've all known they've been heading down to the Championship for months now."
Newcastle v Swansea (15:00 BST)
Guy Mowbray
BBC Match of the Day commentator at St James' Park
"When do 'must win' games become 'MUST WIN' games? It's surely now for Newcastle. Sorry, NOW.
"We'll know in our gut if they have any chance of staying up after this, the first of four home games remaining.
"If they can't raise a response to last week's abject display at Southampton in front of their own crowd against a Swansea side in 'virtual safety', then they're gone - never mind the Norwich-Sunderland score.
"Swansea historically do well on Tyneside - winning their last three and unbeaten in the Premier League - and with Francesco Guidolin keen to bag a new contract, he'll demand his team keep pushing up the table to the end.
"When he got the job, Swansea were below Newcastle. Fact."
West Brom v Watford (15:00 BST)
John Roder
Match of the Day commentator at the Hawthorns
"One more victory for Watford should see them secure a second season in the Premier League. However, the Hornets travel to The Hawthorns without a win in their last six in the league.
"The goals have dried up for strikers Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, who between them have scored 23 of Watford's 31 league goals this season. But in 2016 Deeney has three league goals, Ighalo one.
"Although it's not yet mathematically certain, West Bromwich Albion are surely safe with 40 points.
"I was at the first meeting of these sides for Match of the Day - a drab goalless draw at Vicarage Road in August; hopefully this weekend will provide better entertainment."
Final Score
Jacqui Oatley is in the studio for Final Score this afternoon, where she will be joined by Dion Dublin and Kevin Kilbane.

Everton v Southampton (15:00 BST)
Has Everton boss Roberto Martinez got one eye on games against Liverpool and Manchester United next week? He makes six changes, perhaps as a precaution rather than necessity, from the midweek draw with Crystal Palace.
Bryan Oviedo, Leon Osman, Darron Gibson, Muhamed Besic, Kevin Mirallas and Gerard Deulofeu come into the side. Striker Romelu Lukaku and midfielder Ross Barkley, who were both injury doubts, drop to the bench, while James McCarthy is suspended.
Everton XI: Robles, Coleman, Stones, Funes Mori, Oviedo, Besic, Gibson, Osman, Deulofeu, Kone, Mirallas.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is sticking with a winning side as he keeps faith with the same starting 11 that beat Newcastle last week.
Southampton XI: Forster, Martina, van Dijk, Fonte, Bertrand, Wanyama, Clasie, Mane, Long, Tadic, Pelle.
West Brom v Watford (15:00 BST)
Quique Sanchez Flores may have one eye on the FA Cup semi-final in eight days' time, but he has gone with his two top-scorers up front in Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo.
Watford make four changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Everton.
Allan Nyom, Sebastian Prödl, Nathan Ake, and Adlene Guedioura replace Juan Carlos Paredes, Craig Cathcart, Jose Holebas and Valeron Behrami.
Tony Pulis makes just one change to his West Brom side that lost 2-1 to Manchester City.
Sandro drops to the bench and is replaced by Claudio Yacob.
Manchester United v Aston Villa (15:00 BST)
The teams are already in.
Wayne Rooney returns to the Manchester United starting line-up for the first time since February as Louis van Gaal makes five changes to the side that beat West Ham in the FA Cup on Wednesday.
Antonio Valencia, Morgan Schneiderlin, Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Rooney come in for Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Jesse Lingard, Michael Carrick, Anthony Martial and the injured Ander Herrerra.
Man Utd XI: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Mata, Rooney, Memphis, Rashford.
Aston Villa make one change from the side that lost 2-1 at home to Bournemouth last weekend, with Alan Hutton coming in for Jordan Lyden.
Aston Villa XI: Guzan, Hutton, Clark, Lescott, Cissokho, Richardson, Bacuna, Gueye, Westwood, Ayew, Sinclair.
Newcastle v Swansea (15:00 BST)
Newcastle pair Jonjo Shelvey and striker Aleksandar Mitrovic drop to the bench, as the Magpies make five changes from the XI that started in the 3-1 defeat by Southampton.
Papiss Cisse starts in attack with Cheick Tiote and Jack Colback, who is back from suspension, in midfield. Paul Dummett and Jamaal Lascelles begin in defence.
Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin names an unchanged team from last Saturday’s 1-0 win over Chelsea.
Everton v Southampton (15:00 BST)
Poor Southampton have been pillaged more than most in the Premier League. Last summer, they lost a host of star players and also their manager, Mauricio Pochettino, who you may be aware is currently doing a pretty god job at Tottenham.
Well, the Saints are clearly keen to avoid a repeat this summer and are in talks with boss Ronald Koeman over a new deal.
"Philosophically, we're having very good discussions. We're not in any real hurry," chairman Ralph Krueger told BBC South Today.
"Those conversations with Ronald have been going in a very good direction. It will evolve as it should evolve."
Everton v Southampton (15:00 BST)
Wayne Rooney is back in the Manchester United starting XI for the first time since mid-February. He will form a forward line with Memphis Depay and Marcus Rashford.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have dropped stand-in skipper Jonjo Shelvey and striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to the bench for the visit of Swansea.
And Everton pair Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley are only fit enough to start as substitutes against Southampton at Goodison Park.
Everton v Southampton (15:00 BST)
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman: "We know Everton are struggling a little bit at home.
"The best results they have are away from home and it looks like they are not so comfortable at home. That's still more important how you start the game, because the crowd will be whistling maybe if they don't start well and that's the message to the players how we start and how we play to win the game."
Jermain Defoe
Norwich have aimed a gun firmly at their own foot and pulled the trigger. Sebastien Bassong dallies on the ball unneccessarily and allows Jan Kirchhoff to nick it and play in Fabio Borini. The Italian's low cross is perfect for Jermain Defoe to slide in and score from close range. The Black Cats are on course for a huge win.
