Yes! We've got a goal. Ben Watson makes an intelligent run to the near post and is perfectly placed to guide Adlene Guedioura's corner across goal and inside the far post. He is pretty useful at the near post from corners is Watson - just ask Man City fans.

Everton are yet to have a shot on goal against Southampton at Goodison.

The Saints are seeing less ball but using it well and have had three.

    West Brom 0-0 Watford

Watford keeper Heurelho Gomes is called on to punch clear at his near post as Stephane Sessegnon tries to fire an angled free-kick inside the post. It is probably the closest we've had to a goal in a pretty tame match.

    Newcastle 0-0 Swansea

Danger for Newcastle...Gylfi Sigurdsson stands over a 25-yard free-kick, central position. We know the Swans midfielder can crack these...

Wayyyyy! Sigurdsson, to the delight of the home fans, slips as he strikes the set-piece, the ball ballooning into the air and out for a goal kick near the right corner flag. Shades of David Beckham from the penalty spot against Portugal there...

Best chance of the game at Old Trafford. Wasted horribly by Juan Mata. Another United corner is taken short and Mata is given the ball with space to run in to, which he does before slicing his shot out for a throw-in on the opposite side of the pitch.

    Everton 0-0 Southampton

Southampton are starting to express themselves a little. Two opportunities fall the way of the visitors quickly, Jordie Clasie stretching to prod a volley just over the Everton bar, before Shane Long slashes a wild half-volley into the Gwladys Street Stand.

Chance! Well, a half chance. Everton work an opening down the right flank, Gerard Deulofeu picking out the unmarked Kevin Mirallas just inside the Saints box. The Belgium forward has a pop, but away skipper Jose Fonte blocks.

Jermaine Beckford's sixth-minute goal is the only one in the Championship so far, giving Preston the lead over relegation-threatened MK Dons.

I'm not going to lie to you, it has been a quiet first 20 minutes in this afternoon's Premier League games.

    In the Championship though...

St James' Park is quieter than your local library. Lots of tension around the place. The home team are starting to get on top though, a goal for the team in black and white will really lift the mood...

Watford's Adlene Guedioura - a man who is more than capable of smashing it in from range - fires a low shot from about 25 yards but it dribbles wide of the post.

A lovely United move brings them another corner as Wayne Rooney's low cross is cut out and put behind. But again, Brad Guzan doesn't have to make a save as Fellaini's header goes wide.

Southampton, who are still in the hunt for European qualification remember, will be looking to make a rapid start to get the natives restless. Ronald Koeman's men are yet to force the Toffees into a sticky patch, a cross from Cuco Martina and long-ranger from Victor Wanyama not really testing home keeper Joel Robles.

United have won three corners already in this game, but have failed to created anything from any of them. The latest is headed down by Marouane Fellaini for Marcus Rashford but the young striker is beaten by a Villa player, who clears.

    Newcastle 0-0 Swansea

Somebody has told the Newcastle players that the game has kicked off. The home side have finally woken up, twice going close in a few seconds. Vurnon Anita's cross from the right byline is palmed clear by Swans keeper Lukasz Fabianski as it threatens to embarrass him. Then Anita is back in the action, laying off to Andros Townsend who shoots low into Fabianski's hands from the edge of the area.

Very little to report from the Hawthorns so far. The home side have a corner, which prompts a small scramble because of Watford's failure to properly clear before the ball is finally grasped by Heurelho Gomes.

Yullaw: No Martial? Memphis ahead of him!! You're clueless LVG.

Adebola: One look at that starting line-up and you just know that LVG is yesterday's man. I can do better!

The sun is not the only thing shining at Goodison - the home side have started brightly too. A right-wing cross from Bryan Oviedo should be easy for Saints keeper Fraser Forster to deal with. Not so. He does his best juggling impression before his defence hack clear.
