If Diego Costa had slightly longer studs it would be 3-1. Baba Rahman drives in a low ball from the left and Costa can't stretch out his leg quick enough to touch it in.

Andrew Surman drops a ball into the Chelsea half which Joshua King chases, forcing Branislav Ivanovic into knocking it out for a throw-in. It comes to nothing, but might be a tactic for the Cherries.

Soon after, Charlie Daniels has a go from the left corner of the area, but misses the target.

Bournemouth's heat map on the left shows that all their attacking is coming down the right flank, through Simon Francis and Joshua King.

Chelsea are having more joy down the left though, where Eden Hazard is seeing plenty of the ball.

Can't believe things are that bad at Chelsea that we have to have Mikel as a center half , bad enough that he gets selected anyway.

    T Gath

I think your live text is broken, it just said Eden Hazard scored.

Rarely, I am correct on this occasion, Si.

"This is about as far from a drab end-of-season encounter as you might imagine. With both sides' league standing allowing them to play with a degree of freedom and flair, only a brave person would bet against there being more goals in this game. Both defences have been opened up at will - with Asmir Begovic arguably the first half man of the match."

On another day John Mikel Obi could have conceded two penalties here.

He barges into the back of Lewis Grabban as they head to the by-line. Grabban stays on his feet and Mikel stretches, finally bringing the striker down. Referee Roger East says "corner".

It comes to nothing and it's half-time.

Cesc Fabregas almost has his hat-trick of assists. He sends Pedro into a similar position from where he scored the opening goal, except this time he has to cut back past a defender and his left-foot shot loops over.

Barcelona, sign up Marc Pugh this instant.

The midfielder looks to have got himself into a dead end near his own corner flag - but some superb trickery puts him past two Chelsea players.

At the other end Junior Stanislas lets rip from 25 yards - it's only troubling the stand behind though.

"Agony turns to delight for the home fans - after a long spell of Cherries pressure, the hosts were sucker-punched for the second time, but the faintest of headers from captain Tommy Elphick gets Bournemouth firmly back into the game. The scoreline may not suggest it, but Asmir Begovic has been the busier of the two keepers and has made a number of important saves. But with the skill in Chelsea's ranks, they look capable of scoring every time they burst forward."

Try and catch your breath. Go on. I dare you.

It should be 2-2 as Marc Pugh sends Lewis Grabban on his way into the area. Asmir Begovic closes the angle but does really well to get a hand up to his right to deny Grabban.

No end-of-season feel to this game.

Bournemouth work a short corner and Tommy Elphick gets above and around a pair of Chelsea defenders to head goalwards. Asmir Begovic gets a hand to it but can't keep it out.

Baba Rahman has just put in one of those crosses that makes you think we could all be Premier League footballers. Completely thwacks it behind the Bournemouth goal.

Lewis Grabban does better at the other end, getting almost to the by-line and rifling in a tight one that Asmir Begovic saves at the near post. From the corner, Joshua King gets a good header on target - into Begovic's bread basket though.

    Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea

Plenty of positive signs for Joshua King down the right. He's given the chance to go one on one with Baba Rahman and the Chelsea full-back wins that one.

But the Cherries carve out another chance as Dan Gosling rolls across to Marc Pugh on the edge of the area - it goes the same way as Steve Cook's earlier effort, way over the bar.
