"Tomorrow, it will be six years to the day since Eddie Howe's Bournemouth clinched promotion to League One with a 2-0 win at Burton, while 24 April 2010 was also a day to remember for Chelsea as they blitzed Stoke 7-0 at Stamford Bridge, and went on to win a League and FA Cup double under Carlo Ancelotti."

"The reverse fixture in December proved a pivotal moment for both clubs.

"Bournemouth's win lifted them out of the relegation zone and added real impetus to their belief that they belonged at this level.

"Chelsea's defeat hastened the departure of Jose Mourinho and it was to be his last Premier League game at Stamford Bridge. The club have been counting down the days until the end of the season ever since.

"If Bournemouth complete the double, they will draw level in the table with last year's champions. Who saw that happening before a ball had been kicked in August?

"The fact that it might happen speaks volumes about their relative efforts this term."

One win in seven in all competitions for Chelsea though. Not blood-curdling form.

"Four of the five previous meetings of Bournemouth and Chelsea have finished with 1-0 scorelines, though none as significant as the reverse fixture in December. If Eddie Howe's side somehow pull off their first Premier League double today, it would leave them level on points with the defending champions after 35 games - utterly unthinkable at the start of the season."

John Terry may have a lower-leg injury, but he's made the journey to Dorset with his Chelsea team-mates.

He's currently sat in the away dugout next to boss Guus Hiddink - the pair are having right LOLs at something. Probably not talking about his contract situation, then.

Wilson played 13 minutes in last week's 2-1 loss to Liverpool - and it looks like he has the hunger for more.

It's not as if Bournemouth are in desperate need of good news:

Comfortably staying up in their first Premier League season, pretty-on-the-eye football, three points behind the defending champions.

But just to add a smug glow to their already shimmering demeanour, the return of Cullum Wilson continues apace today.

The 24-year-old, who scored 23 goals last season, has made two substitute appearances since injuring his knee in September and once again takes his place on the bench.

Oh, and Benik Afobe is alongside him after his own injury lay-off.

Bournemouth assistant manager Jason Tindall told the club website: "Unfortunately Max Gradel has picked up a dead leg, we're hoping it's not too serious. Matt Ritchie [who drops to the bench] has put in a huge amount of effort this season, we've just made a tactical change to bring in Marc Pugh and Junior Stanislas. Our bench today is very attacking with Benik Afobe, Callum Wilson and Matt, they're game-changers."

The last time Chelsea fans saw Eden Hazard, the Belgian was trudging off as they suffered a Champions League exit at the hands of PSG.

    Chelsea's form since then?

"Winger Marc Pugh, Bournemouth's longest-serving player, starts today after seven successive substitute appearances. He comes in for Max Gradel - having usually come off the bench to replace the Ivorian in recent weeks - while record signing Benik Afobe returns to the bench after injury."

Bournemouth make two changes from their 2-1 loss to Liverpool, with Marc Pugh and Lewis Grabban coming in for Max Gradel and Matt Ritchie. Callum Wilson is on the bench as he continues his return from injury and he is joined by Benik Afobe.

Three changes for Chelsea. The big news is Eden Hazard makes his first start after a five-game absence with a hip/groin injury - Ruben Loftus-Cheek makes way. Gary Cahill is ill, so John Mikel Obi will play at centre-half with Nemanja Matic coming into midfield. Thibaut Courtios is suspended and is replaced by Asmir Begovic.

If, nine months ago, you'd have said Bournemouth would march into mid-April with the chance to draw level on points with reigning, defending Premier League champions Chelsea - you'd have been told go for a bit of a lie down.

Yes, it's as much to do with Chelsea's useless first half of the season as it is Bournemouth's terrific campaign overall, but both scenarios seemed deliriously unlikely.

And here we are, a handful of games before the end of the season, and that's exactly what could happen. Funny old game and all that.
