Lucas replaces the limping Emre Can. The most unlikely of match-winners?

  4. Elsewhere in Europepublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 14 April 2016

Plenty of goals elsewhere - Sevilla are drawing 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao and lead 3-2 on aggregate.

Shakhtar Donetsk are 4-0 up against Sporting Braga - 6-1 up on aggregate.

And it is easy street for Villarreal, who lead 4-2 at Sparta Prague, 6-3 on aggregate.

I don't know where Jurgen Klopp gets those volcanic celebrations from but they are quite something to watch, More hang time than Kobe Bryant.

Anfield is truly rocking now. They still have 10 minutes to summon a winner...

  6. goal

GOAL - Liverpool 3-3 Dortmund (Agg: 4-4)published at 77 mins

    Mamadou Sakho

Well, that team-talk was a zinger from Mats Hummels! After a lengthy delay Liverpool only go and score from the corner.

Daniel Sturridge helps the ball on at the near post and Mamadou Sakho stoops to plant a header in from four yards out.

Liverpool level on the night. Level on aggregate.

But, crucially, out as it stands on away goals...

  7. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Liverpool 2-3 Dortmund (Agg: 3-4)

Mats Hummels summons his team-mates and delivers an impromptu team-talk as Emre Can gets some treatment in the middle. There speaks a captain who has won the World Cup. Good leadership.

Jurgen Klopp wonders what the delay is all about. Can in pain.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 74 mins

    Liverpool 2-3 Dortmund (Agg: 3-4)

Lukasz Piszczek goes in the book for a cynical challenge and Liverpool win another corner out on the right. James Milner takes - another poor delivery. He gets the ball back and crosses dangerously this time - scrambled away!

  9. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Liverpool 2-3 Dortmund (Agg: 3-4)

But that's a terrible corner. Again! You have to beat the first man. Come on.

  10. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Liverpool 2-3 Dortmund (Agg: 3-4)

James Milner is trying to get hold of the game, meandering across the field looking for the ball at every opportunity. Dejan Lovren wins a corner. Plenty of time left!

  11. Postpublished at 71 mins

    Liverpool 2-3 Dortmund (Agg: 3-4)

Daniel Sturridge is played in on the left of the front three but his shot is not really a shot or a cross, it's easy for Roman Weidenfeller to grab in to his chest. Anfield back up to an eight on the volume stakes.

Liverpool have one sub left. There is no Christian Benteke on the bench though. Could Seyi Ojo be the answer?

Liverpool have 20 minutes to score twice.

Andre White: Away goals kill European games, should they be scrapped?

Matt Wall: This is nothing. Fulham needed 4 against Juventus and did it. God bless Roy.

"Like Liverpool's first, a really nice interchange of quick passes and a nice finish from Liverpool and Philippe Coutinho produced a nice finish.

"For the first time in the match, Borussia Dortmund are looking a little bit rattled."

  16. CLOSE!published at 67 mins

    Liverpool 2-3 Dortmund (Agg: 3-4)

Well the Kop is back on simmer as Divock Origi fires over from 25 yards. Not very far over though.

    Can Liverpool do this?

    Philippe Coutinho

Well I never did. It's been entertaining! Wonderful goal again as Philippe Coutinho plays a one-two about 25 yards out and he then curls home hard and low into the bottom corner. A bit like Kevin de Bruyne on Tuesday night.

Game on again to an extent. Liverpool need TWO more.

  18. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Liverpool 1-3 Dortmund (Agg: 2-4)

Well, Liverpool are not going to be in the Champions League next season. That is at least one confusing permutations out of the way. Dortmund will be.

  20. Dortmund's lethal responsepublished at 21:25 British Summer Time 14 April 2016

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Anfield

"That was always the danger - Liverpool's excitement understandable but once again Borussia Dortmund stunned them with that third goal.

"Real shame as Anfield was a wall of sound and just starting to believe. Surely all over now."
