Liam Fontaine fired Hibs level at Hampden against Ross County
Police Scotland has issued a statement about the possibility of a Hibs win in today's final: "Easter Road Stadium will not be open tonight for fans and there is no cup parade organised for this evening."
They are not predicting a Ross County victory - just obviously looking to prevent crowds from gathering at the Edinburgh club's stadium as it will be closed even if their side win!

Quote MessageCounty players left the pitch at the interval looking dejected. Liam Fontaine's equaliser has dampened their optimism and the goal was reward for Hibs generally commanding play in the first half. Jim McIntyre has to lift his players at half-time but also urge them to raise their performance, because they have not performed to their potential so far. Foster and Gardyne are the key players in the 3-5-2 formation because the space is out wide, but County have barely found them. The momentum belongs to Hibs and, if they maintain that, the likelihood is that they will score again

So Hibs get the equaliser their play has deserved just on the stroke of half time.

Quote MessageRoss County just don't look comfy in this formation and it is only a matter of time before Hibs score if it goes on like this

Hibernian 0-1 Ross County
Jason Cummings is looking dangerous and he pounces on a John McGinn through ball and tries to hook it over the head of the goalkeeper, but the striker's effort is turned over the crossbar by Gary Woods. It might have been going wide anyway.
Quote MessageIf you are the Hibs manager, you will be disappointed that they have not taken any of their chances. They have played most of the football, but it doesn't matter as they are 1-0 down
Willie Miller, BBC Radio Scotland pundit
County scorer Michael Gardyne is the only survivor from the Dingwall side that lost in the Scottish Cup final of 2010 to Dundee United. It looks like County will have to survive sustained Hibs pressure if they are to retain the lead he has given them.
Marcus Fraser has to lash the ball clear from inside the County six-yard box as Hibs apply pressure in search of an equaliser.

Quote MessageRoss County's back three provides them with a spare man in defence but allows Hibs the numerical advantage in midfield. Once the game settled into a less frantic nature, Hibs were able to dominate possession. Michael Gardyne's opening goal has changed the dynamic of the game now, though, and individual battles all over the field will determine how the game progresses
Hibernian 0-1 Ross County (Michael Gardyne)
Against the run of play, Jackson Irvine pounces on a poor square pass from Hibs and sets up Michael Gardyne for a run at goal. Marvin Bartley looks to have put in a good tackle, but it breaks for striker off goalkeeper Mark Oxley and he is left with a simple tap into the empty net.
Michael Gardyne steals in behind the Hibs defence to score the opening goal
John McGinn and then Anthony Stokes weave their way into the County penalty box and the latter's low drive is straight at goalkeeper Gary Woods.
Hibs are beginning to dominate the midfield and a low cross from David Gray just evades Jason Cummings in front of goal.
First chance for County from their first corner. Ian McShane's driven corner finds Martin Woods unmarked at the back post, but the midfielder stumbles as he tries to get the ball under control.
