Let's hope tomorrow's live text commentary from the Championship provides its fair share of drama too...

It's been all smiles on Derby's training ground this week, following Harry Redknapp's appointment as an advisor to Rams head coach Darren Wassall.

Derby are fifth in the Championship and will look to further cement their play-off spot, as well as take some local pride, by beating Nottingham Forest.

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull

Middlesbrough go up to second with that late David Nugent winner, four points behind leaders Burnley and two clear of Brighton, who slip to third.

The Seagulls can regain second spot with a win at MK Dons tomorrow.

Hull are fourth, four points behind Boro.

That Nugent header really was a monumental goal in this Championship promotion race.

  4. Post-match reactionpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2016

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull

Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Clayton tells Sky Sports: "We've scored a lot of goals in the last five minutes of games and we knew we could get one.

"Finally it's gone in for Dave, he works so hard and I'm so happy he's got the goal that won us the game."

  5. Post-match reactionpublished at 21:43 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2016

    FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull

Middlesbrough goalscorer David Nugent tells Sky Sports: "I've been thrown on to change the game a little bit, I got one chance and I managed to put it away.

"It's a massive win with the week we've had. It was a gritty 1-0 win, we're back up to second position and we've got to stay there now."

  6. FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Hullpublished at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2016

    David Burns
BBC Radio Humberside's Hull City commentator

"Hull City are crestfallen. They deserved at least a point from this game, and this could be the end of City's automatic promotion chances.

"Steve Bruce always says that it's in the club's DNA to do things the hard way - and promotion to the Premier League will be hard now."

  7. FT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Hullpublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2016

What a week it's been for Aitor Karanka. The Middlesbrough boss blew a kiss, presumably to his family in the stand, straight after the final whistle sounded.

    Reaction on the way shortly.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2016

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull

It's all over! It looked for all the world that this one would end goalless, but Middlesbrough snatch victory with a last-gasp David Nugent header.

  9. 'Lovely little flick'published at 90+1 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull

    Steve Stone
Former Newcastle coach and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

"Albert Adomah has been awful all night but his last few crosses have been far better and that was real quality.

"It was a lovely little flick from David Nugent into the corner. There was nothing the goalkeeper could do."

    GOAL (Nugent)published at 90+1 mins

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Hull

How big is that moment in this Championship promotion race?

Albert Adomah sends in a cross from the right and David Nugent flicks a header into the far corner.

Delight for Middlesbrough, who are going second in the table, and boss Aitor Karanka - who hugs his coaching staff and jumps around like, well, like someone who's just seen his side score a stoppage-time winner.

  11. Middlesbrough 0-0 Hullpublished at 89 mins

Middlesbrough have looked a shadow of the side that was six points clear at the top of the Championship in January.

They win a corner thanks to some good movement up front by David Nugent, his shot blocked behind by Michael Dawson, but a poor set-piece is easily cleared to safety.

  12. Middlesbrough 0-0 Hullpublished at 87 mins

A nice move from Hull, as left-back Andy Robertson bursts forward and plays a one-two on the edge of the box, but he sends his header straight at Middlesbrough goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos.

  14. 'A wonderful opportunity'published at 83 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

    Steve Stone
Former Newcastle coach and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

"You can only put that down to him being a little bit rusty having just come on. The player himself knows it is a wonderful opportunity."

  15. Middlesbrough 0-0 Hullpublished at 82 mins

    What a chance for Hull!

Abel Hernandez gets the ball 18 yards out, his shot is blocked, and Ahmed Elmohamady volleys over from close range.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 78 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

A Hull change - Robert Snodgrass off and Ahmed Elmohamady on. A like-for-like switch on the right wing.

  17. 'Rhodes is lacking confidence'published at 77 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

    Steve Stone
Former Newcastle coach and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

"Jordan Rhodes's runs off the ball have been very good.

"He looks like he's just lacking in a bit of confidence but his work-rate has been fine.

"I would have said they could have gone with two up front at this stage but Aitor Karanka will not change from his system. It's his team and they've been successful doing it that way."

  18. Middlesbrough 0-0 Hullpublished at 75 mins

I hate to say it, but this feels like one of those games where both teams could play all night and not find the net.

Will the subs make a difference? Just 15 minutes to go.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 73 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

Gaston Ramirez scored twice in Middlesbrough's last home match against Wolves two weeks ago, but he's not come close to matching that feat tonight. He curls an angled shot high and wide of goal.

Hull make a change - top scorer Abel Hernandez comes on for Sone Aluko.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 71 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull

David Nugent replaces Jordan Rhodes up front for Middlesbrough.

That's now one goal in 10 games since his £9m move from Blackburn, and eight games without scoring.
