Personally, having seen a couple of replays, I think a second yellow card would have been harsh for Mo Diame.
Tomas Kalas was simply quicker to the ball and I don't think Diame spotted the Middlesbrough defender closing him down from behind.
Possibly one for the managers to ponder later on, depending on if it affects the result of course...
Meanwhile, the first half is petering out a little bit. Not much action to speak of.

"I think Mo Diame was going for the ball there.
"The Middlesbrough fans think he should be off, but I think all he needed was a slightly better touch. He's been fortunate there."

"The referee has been very lenient there. That's frustration from Diame and it was a blatant foul.
"He took a swipe at him and he should have been sent off, without a shadow of a doubt."

"Hull are having to work so hard to get the ball back because Middlesbrough are quality in possession.
"The three Middlesbrough midfielders are totally dominating that part of the pitch."
Mo Diame's heart will have been in his mouth for a second there!
The Hull man miscontrols a through ball and, as he attempts to trap it, he brings down Tomas Kalas.
Having just been booked, was it worthy of a second yellow card and therefore a red? Referee Andre Marriner thinks otherwise - it's just a telling off for Diame.
A big opening for Hull, as Jake Livermore wins the ball back inside his own half and sets the visitors on the counter-attack.
Sam Clucas whips in a ball from the left and it finds Robert Snodgrass at the back post, but the winger puts his shot wide of the upright.
Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull
The first yellow card of the game goes to Hull's Mo Diame, who fouls Tomas Kalas deep in Middlesbrough territory.
The caution is more for an accumulation of offences, rather than that little trip itself.
Emilio Nsue's cross over everyone in the Hull box sums up the match so far, really. Both sides have got into decent positions at times, but I can't remember either goalkeeper making a save.
In fact, the only shot on target was Cristhian Stuani's header which was cleared off the line by Tigers left-back Andy Robertson.

"Whenever I played in teams that got promoted, you were looking for a couple of players to score 20 goals each.
"When I was at Nottingham Forest we had Pierre van Hooijdonk, who I think got 30 goals.
"Even if you concede goals then you are still going to win games and get promoted."
Hull City have scored just three goals in their last eight matches.
Sone Aluko's willing running earns Hull a corner, which Curtis Davies meets, but the defender doesn't get enough purchase on his header and the ball drops kindly for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos.
Middlesbrough 0-0 Hull
The pace has slowed slightly and perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that we haven't seen any goals yet...
Hull went into this game with a marginally better defensive record than Middlesbrough this season.
They had let in only 22 goals in their 36 league games before tonight, compared to 23 in 36 by Boro.
A fairly lively opening at the Riverside Stadium, but it's still 0-0 between these two promotion contenders.
Tonight's winners will go up to second place in the Championship.
It's one of those games that needs a goal to really bring it to life.
Another chance for Middlesbrough, and again it's Cristhian Stuani with a header. He has to generate all of the power himself and nods just wide from eight yards.

"It was a great ball in from the corner and that is why you have someone on the post at corners.
"I can never understand coaches not putting people there."

Almost the opening goal for Middlesbrough, as Andrew Robertson clears Cristhian Stuani's near-post header from a corner off his own line.
The first meaningful attempt on goal is from Hull's Robert Snodgrass, who receives a loose pass from a Boro defender and fires wide from 25 yards.
A comical moment as Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Clayton finds himself on all fours shielding the ball from Mo Diame and Sone Aluko.
When a free-kick is given against the Hull pair, they throw their arms about as if someone's just stolen their favourite toy.

"It's a really passionate atmosphere here.
"Hull need to slow the tempo of the game now and make sure that Middlesbrough don't get in front."
