"Where do we start? England have been too slow, there's no urgency. They need to show better movement, more dynamic movement. They're making sloppy errors under no pressure. It's not good right now."

England free-kick, 30 yards from goal, left side of the area. Fara Williams takes it, it has got pace and power and it is on target, but Justien Odeurs is right behind it. The teenage goalkeeper has grown into this game.

Five minutes until the break. A goal would be handy round about now for England but they just have not tested the Belgium keeper enough. In fact, the only danger the visitors have had has been self inflicted after a couple of nervy moments by Justien Odeurs.

"You can see when England do move the ball one and two-touch they're making things happen but it's been a very lethargic performance."

England try to stretch the mass of Belgian players in the middle by going wide through Katie Chapman but, like too many of the home players tonight, she rushes her next pass, driving the ball forward for Jill Scott but there is too much power on it and Scott can't control.

Now Belgium have a corner. It is sent long to the lanky figure of Heleen Jaques, but the defender cannot connect and England clear.

England are very panicky in possession. Clearly that goal has rattled them and they are desperate to restore parity, but a little too desperate, making too many mistakes. The atmosphere has dropped to a nervy silence. England just need to slow the pace a little.

"England are forcing their passes. They're at times playing with really straight lines, too. They need more width. It's very difficult to pass with the pitch so crowded."

There are nine outfield players back on the edge of the Belgium area when England attack. They are inviting the pressure, but England are struggling to find a way through the packed defence.

England are pressing for that equaliser at the moment.

Fara Williams swings a cross in that is just over the head of Jill Scott. Belgium's clearance is poor, looped into the air and Toniu Duggan waits for the ball to drop before volleying at goal. The effort lacks power, though and Justien Odeurs holds.

How will England react to that blow? They were firmly in control until that defensive mishap. Belgium could well retreat to protect their advantage and it could be a long 70 minutes ahead for the hosts.

"That is a shock. Karen Bardsley will be absolutely devastated by that. Casey Stoney was expecting her to clear it but it's like she takes her eyes off the ball. A complete mis-kick."

Oh dear! An absolute shocker from England keeper Karen Bardsley as she comes out to clear a pass back but misses the ball and Janice Cayman nips in to slot the ball into the empty net.

In fairness, Bardsley was not helped by her defenders, who should have cleared the danger earlier.

Another shaky moment from Justien Odeurs in the Belgian goal as she flaps at an England corner. Jill Scott acrobatically hooks the loose ball goalwards but credit to Odeurs, she gets back and holds the ball on the line.
