    Penalty to Preston...

Knock, knock. Who's there? Anthony Knockaert. (Boom, tish)

Bad pun, I know. But the Brighton man has been the most positive figure out there so far, and has driven the hosts on down the left.

CRUNCH. Burnley's Joey Barton and Brighton's Beram Kayal had eyes on the ball and tried to occupy the same piece of turf. Full bodied effort from both, that.

  6. Brighton 0-0 Burnleypublished at 18 mins

It's controlled and patient work from both sides. An even opening 18 minutes.

Plenty of industrious work being done on the left by Brighton's Sam Baldock and Anthony Knockaert, who is the latest to have a fierce shot blocked.

  7. goal

GOAL Blackburn 1-0 Preston (Ward)published at 13 mins

The hosts take the lead through defender Elliott Ward.

Elliott Bennet's corner is headed against the crossbar by midfielder Hope Akpan and Ward is on hand to score his first Rovers goal from close range.

  8. Brighton 0-0 Burnleypublished at 14 mins

End-to-end stuff that is not producing anything dangerous.

First, a corner finds Burnley's Joey Barton, but it was just too high to direct on goal.

Moments later, Anthony Knockaert breaks down the left for Brighton, but his effort from a tight angle is saved. Then in flurry of action as Brighton bodies line up to have a crack from outside the box, efforts blocked one after another.

  9. Brighton 0-0 Burnleypublished at 10 mins

Tomer Hemed, off the bench to score a double in his last game for Brighton, gets off a lame effort from distance. That trickles through to Tom Heaton in Burnley's goal.

Down the other end, Burnley have a corner but David Stockdale collects easily.

  10. Brighton 0-0 Burnleypublished at 8 mins

Oh, can we notch that up as a glimpse of a chance for Burnley?

The ball breaks from George Boyd on the edge of the box and it's fired goalward, but it's blocked. There was definitely something on there for the visitors, but even the follow up cross from the left was harmless in the end.

  11. Brighton 0-0 Burnleypublished at 6 mins

Anthony Knockaert and Sam Baldock linking up well on the right edge for Brighton.

However, neat passing from the hosts not creating anything of real meaning.

At the other end, quick forays forward by Burnley are snuffed out quickly.

  12. Brighton 0-0 Burnleypublished at 3 mins

Burnley, looking to make a start as bright as their yellow away kit, with Andre Gray asking an early question of David Stockdale with a effort from distance. Easily dealt with.

    Blackburn v Preston (12.30 BST)

It's not all about the highflyers in today's early kick-offs, with Blackburn Rovers hosting Preston North End in their Lancashire derby (12:30 BST).

Preston, who haven't won a league game at Ewood Park since March 1979, are nine points adrift of of the play-off places, with Rovers a further seven points behind.

You can stay across the action from Ewood Park right here, of course.

Brighton make two changes to the side that beat MK Dons before the international break with Tomer Hemed, who scored both of their goals in that 2-1 win, coming into the starting line-up. Anthony Knockaert also starts, while Jiri Skalak and James Wilson drop to the bench.

Heartening team news for Burney as Ashley Barnes is named on the bench and could make his first appearance of the season after having knee surgery in May last year.

  18. In the money and in demandpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 2 April 2016

    Brighton v Burnley (12.30 BST)

What is the Premier League worth to clubs? Well, going by the club-record profit of £30.1m returned from Burnley's 2014-15 stint in the top flight, it's fair to say a huge amount.

The Clarets, who were relegated at the end of the season, had posted a £7.6m pre-tax loss the previous campaign in the Championship.

How they operate at Turf Moor has been getting plenty of attention, with manager Sean Dyche linked to the vacant job at Aston Villa. It's all speculation of course, but it paints a picture of a man in demand.

  19. Form guidepublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 2 April 2016

    Brighton v Burnley (12.30 BST)

Brighton, the early season pacesetters, have lost just one of their past 12 games. This has gone a long way to making up for their major wobble in December and January, when they failed to win in eight games, losing five in all competitions.

Burnley are unbeaten in 15 league games, dating back to Boxing Day, and have won seven of their last nine matches.

Brighton stretched their unbeaten start in the Championship to 17 games when they drew with Burnley at Turf Moor on 22 November.

Bobby Zamora put the visitors in front from close range on 58 seconds after Tomer Hemed's shot hit the bar.

Andre Gray equalised from the penalty spot three minutes later, his 11th goal of the season, after Lewis Dunk pulled Michael Keane's shirt.

As it stood then, Brighton were second behind Hull FC on goal difference alone, while Burnley were two points back in fifth.
