MattversusLife: I think the Rooney haters can shut up. Great play from him and Mata

Omar C: LVG putting Mata on the right wing genius...

Ashic Mahtab: That was some incredible nerves from Rooney not to shoot. It probably wouldn't have gone in if he had.

    Stuart Pearce
Ex-England defender at Carrow Road for BBC Radio 5 live

"About an hour ago we talked about Sebastien Bassong and in recent weeks he has been the one that would offer a chance and he has made a horrific blunder to let Wayne Rooney in behind. He misjudged it totally.

"Rooney did well to compose himself and it was a good finish from Juan Mata."

    Juan Mata (72 mins)

Nail in the coffin for Norwich?

It looks like the optimism of staying in the Premier League is draining away from both players and supporters.

A huge mistake from defender Sebastien Bassong, who misjudges a header which allows Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney to coast through on goal.

The England international keeps his composure and plays in Juan Mata, who tucks the ball into the net to send the away fans into ecstasy. Agony for the hosts.

Russell Boorman: Let's not judge Memphis too early - remember, Vidic and Evra didn't have great starts either!

Jonny Howson wins the ball back for Norwich deep in the opposition half.

Manchester United sprawl, duck and dive to try and clear the danger, but the ball falls to the feet of Gary O'Neil, whose sliced shot goes over the bar.

Must do better with chances like that.
