Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian is in trouble here. He brings down Ivo Pinto on the charge but does more damage to himself than his opponent.

It looks like he went over on his ankle and the Italian has problems here.

Liz Tray: Why do goalkeepers get credit when the striker misses a sitter by heading the ball straight at them? Shocking miss from Jerome.

John Pierce: When you have your hopes hinging on Cameron Jerome!

Carrow Road looks rather picturesque today.

Norwich's green and yellow shirts blending in with the lush turf and the shining sun.

The hosts have had the best chance of the match so far and Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy has been a spectator. That will surely change as the match wears on, though.

    Norwich 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United fail to deal with Robbie Brady's resulting corner, and Wayne Rooney, has to clear off the line.

Seconds later, Nathan Redmond's cross is met by the towering Cameron Jerome, but it's straight at Manchester United's player of the year David de Gea, who pushes it away.

Either side of the Spaniard and that was an opener.

A breathless start to this game.

Big-money signing Memphis Depay has been out of favour at Manchester United, and shows signs of rustiness with a left-footed cross that sails over John Ruddy's crossbar and out for a goal-kick.

"One Carrow Road memory still makes me tingle.

"It was 9 April 2005. Tea time. I'd backed Hedgehunter to win the Grand National that day. Ruby Walsh romped home by 14 lengths. Manchester United were expected to romp it at bottom club Norwich to maintain their title hopes. The Canaries had lost five in a row.

"But the place was jumping. Dean Ashton and Leon McKenzie scored. 2-0. That day Norwich could dream of a miracle. They need one now.

"This is a 'long goodbye' game. A home defeat would signal almost certain relegation. United can kiss farewell to the top four if they lose. Where's Ruby Walsh when you need him?"

The title has gone but Manchester United still have plenty to play for in the remaining weeks of the season.

The FA Cup final in a couple of weeks' time provides the chance of a first piece of major silverware since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Win their remaining three games and they will still be in with a shout of finishing in a Champions League spot at the end of the campaign.

Rivals Manchester City will be looking over their shoulders.

"Fans of Sunderland and Newcastle will not be pleased with that Manchester United team selection. I'd suggest that will have given Norwich quite a big lift.

"There is a lot of nervousness here, a lot of pressure. I think Norwich do have to win today, because both Newcastle and Sunderland have more momentum."
