Real Madrid are the champions of Europe for the 11th time, four times more than anyone else.

Check out the developing match report from tonight's game.

On our football index later tonight, you'll be able to catch Jermaine Jenas' player ratings from Milan.

But it's goodnight from me and I'll leave you with this picture...

Real Madrid players are throwing Zinedine Zidane in the air. Luckily they're catching him each time.

More successful than some birthday bumps I saw in my schooldays.

Yannick Carrasco went to the crowd to kiss his girlfriend after his equaliser. Didn't get booked. Not sure how that works.

Think that's the first time I've ever wanted the Google drop down option of 'girlfriend' which seems to come up whenever you search for a footballer.

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric tells BT Sport: "We won it again but it was a hard game from the beginning to the end. It was difficult tonight because of so much humidity but we fight until the end and we made it. We are very happy and proud, we were calm on penalties and we deserved to win. I feel sorry for Atletico but I am glad for ourselves.

"This is the competition of Real Madrid, the 'undecima', this trophy belongs to Real and that is why it it the best club in the world.

"Manager Zinedine Zidane said it was about the mentality and we had to believe we could achieve the victory."

Gareth Bale takes a picture with Richard Gere. Not sure this kind of thing happened with Real's first European Cup wins in the 1950s. What would be the equivalent? Alfredo di Stefano and Richard Harris?

Real Madrid's players are now bringing their children for pictures of the trophies.

Like when you'd get your picture taken with your parents and Santa at Christmas. But with the Champions League trophy instead of a man in fancy dress.

This reminds me of when Accrington congratulated Oxford and Bristol Rovers on their promotion from League Two on the final day. No? Just me then.

    • Sergio Ramos became the fifth player to score in two different Champions League finals, and the first defender to do so (also Raul, Samuel Eto’o, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo).
    • Indeed, Ramos joins Messi and Eto’o as one of three players to score in his first two Champions League finals.
    • Only Marcello Lippi (3) has lost more Champions League finals as a manager than Diego Simeone (2).

    • This was the eighth Champions League final to go to extra-time, and the seventh to go to a penalty shootout.
    • This was the third time the Champions League final shootout was contested between teams from the same country (also 2003 and 2008).
    • Zinedine Zidane is the second man (Miguel Munoz) to win the European Cup with Real Madrid as both a player and a manager.
