"Zidane has been phenomenal. He has come in, use all of his experience and get the players playing. I am sure he will enjoy this moment as much as he did when he was a player."
Zinedine Zidane has constantly had to admit his future is uncertain as Real Madrid boss. They've always been secretive about how long his contract is.
Surely even Real couldn't give him the boot now. Surely!
Zinedine Zidane leads the way, Marcelo - with his shirt on back to front (so his name is at the front...) limps behind him.
Now Real Madrid's players climb the San Siro steps to get their medals and trophy.
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo tells BT Sport: "The penalties are always a lottery, you never know what will happen but our team showed more experience and we showed it by scoring all the penalties. A fantastic night for us.
"It is the end of the season and people are not fit, we have to rest and we have to go for the Euros."
Atletico players are getting their medals now. None of them are looking enthused, as you'd understand.
Substitute Thomas Partey's mood is not matching his name as he gets his.
Real Madrid's players do a guard of honour as Atletico's players go up to get their runners-up medals. Some of the Atleti players are in tears.
They've got no trophies to show for another great season.
English referee Mark Clattenburg gets his medal and gets a good boo! Not sure what he did wrong really.
All of Real Madrid's five penalties went right corner, say Opta. Good spot, lads.
Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale tells BT Sport: "I can't feel a lot, I am cramping up. What an amazing feeling, in extra time we showed resilience, what we are made of and winning the 11th.
"The boys gave everything, the club, the fans have been amazing on this journey and deserve it.
"Atletico gave it a great game and we feel a little bit sorry for them but you have to win a final.
"Some of their players were struggling but we tried not to show it too much. I was nervous after the penalty, not while taking it.
"We [Wales] will be going for the European Championship title now."
Atletico Madrid are the club that have played the most European Cup finals without winning any.
This is the third season in a row that someone in their first season as a Champions League manager has reached the final.
In 2014, it was Atletico boss Diego Simeone, who lost to Real.
Last year, Barca boss Luis Enrique beat Juventus.
And now Zinedine Zidane, who only took charge of Real Madrid in January, has beaten Atletico.
Fernando Torres is in tears on the pitch. He's won the tournament before with Chelsea - and a World Cup and two Euros with Spain.
But he openly admitted this was the big one for him, playing for his boyhood club.
He has been so good in the past three months but was looking like his old (Chelsea and AC Milan, not Liverpool) self. A real shame for him.
The trophy engraver is now etching Real Madrid's name onto the Champions League. He's doing the word Madrid now, he probably could have had that word ready last week.
Rafael Benitez started the season as Real Madrid boss. And he's probably watching this at home as his old team celebrate the European title, as he prepares for the Football League with Newcastle.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who has his shirt off in a textbook move, hugs Zinedine Zidane on the pitch. Huge celebrations for Real Madrid.
Atletico Madrid fans are in tears, as you'd expect. Their second Champions League final in three years, and they've lost both. To their much more successful neighbours.
