That shows while it's 1-0 Hungary will still have belief. It's out of nothing and the Belgium defence get lackadaisical and don't get tight.

Really spanks that. Belgium keeper Thibaut Courtois didn't know whether that was on target or not.

Balazs Dzsudzsak gives Belgium another timely reminder that this game is far from won yet. His fiercely-struck, rising, 30-yard effort beats Courtois and clears the bar by only a yard. Cracking effort.

Are Belgium going to rue these missed chances. Romelu Lukaku makes a bit of a mess of a pass to De Bruyne in the box, as it causes the midfielder to snatch at the effort and send it tamely into Kiraly's hands.

Eden Hazard is dictating this game now. When he gets the ball he's walking past players like they're not there. He's having a big impact on the game. Players don't want to get tight on him because he's going past them, but that means he has space to play the ball.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 36 mins

    Hungary 0-1 Belgium

De Bruyne is all over this game. He whips the free-kick over the wall towards the goal and is only denied a goal by the hand of Gabor Kiraly and then the crossbar.

That effort had wheels, as demonstrated by the grimace of Kiraly as he shakes his singed hand after the save.

Oooh, was that offside? Mertens looks to break past the Hungary defence and is flagged, but replays show it was a very close call.

Belgium come again, though, and Mertens is fouled on the edge of the box by Tamas Kadar, who is booked and will miss the quarters tie if Hungary make it. Not looking likely at the moment.

Hungary have scored more goals from outside the box than any other side at Euro 2016 (three if you're counting). It is no surprise then that they are willing to have a pop from range. Gergo Lovrencsics has clearly turned off his targeting computer, though, and slams his effort into the stand.

Belgium look far more likely to add to their lead than concede. Lukaku's cross is perfect for De Bruyne but his header inside the box is straight at Kiraly.

Hazard is not a happy man. He is furious at Romelu Lukaku for delaying his pass through the Hungary back-line, meaning he is caught offside. I appreciate Eden's frustration but I wouldn't get go slinging insults Romelu's way. If he spilt my pint in a pub I would nod politely and meekly head to the bar myself.

"Great movement by Mertens to get in the box. He comes short and then spins to get the ball over the top. Great penetration."

Dries Mertens wastes a great chance for Belgium. He shows superb movement to collect a ball over the top following his lay-off, but after charging into the box his low cross (or was it a shot?) is collected by the diving Kiraly. If that was Hazard or De Bruyne, you would expect Belgium to have doubled their lead.

If Hungary are to get back into this game, Balazs Dzsudzsak is as likely a goal source as any. He scored two against Portugal and draws a save out of Courtois here with a low shot from the edge of the box. Just some small signs of life from the Hungarians in the last minute or two.

We've seen very little of Hungary in the Belgium half so far. Tamas Kadar swings over a cross from the left but it is claimed well by Thibaut Courtois.

Eden Hazard is coming to the boil. He nips past a challenge with ease on the edge of the box before his low cross is slammed behind. Hungary manage to get the resulting corner away, but not convincingly. It allows Belgium to come again and tee up Toby Alderweireld to blaze a long-range effort way over the bar. I reckon he might have seen Jerome Boateng earlier.
