  1. What the managers saidpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 10 April 2016

    Rangers v Peterhead (15:00)

Rangers boss Mark Warburton: "It's a cup final, they players are not looking ahead to other fixtures. It's going to be a magnificent crowd, great for the tournament, great for the players and good for the fans I hope. It will be a spectacle, like a home game for Rangers and it speaks volumes for the quality of the support."

Peterhead's Jim McInally: "As a manager, winning the league against Clyde two years ago was a really special day, especially the way it happened. But as far as enjoyment goes, this should be the best day in management."

  2. New name on the trophypublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 10 April 2016

    Rangers v Peterhead (15:00)

This is the first time the Challenge Cup final has been played at the national stadium but it's not Rangers' first final. The Ibrox side lost out to Raith Rovers in 2014, with John Baird scoring the only goal in extra-time at Easter Road.

Peterhead have never been this far in the tournament.

The Hampden pitch was relaid for last month's League Cup final but it really doesn't look very good.

BBC Scotland reporter Chick Young informs us it will be dug up again tomorrow in time for next weekend's Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Here are the Rangers players having a look earlier...

"It won't do us any harm if it slows Rangers down a bit," Peterhead manager Jim McInally tells BBC Radio Scotland. "It's a bizarre pitch. It's not good."

  4. Hoaching at Hampdenpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 10 April 2016

    Rangers v Peterhead (15:00)

A crowd of 2,869 watched Livingston lift the trophy last year, thrashing Alloa 4-0 at McDiarmid Park.

We're expecting the national stadium to be close to capacity today.

"To go to Hampden and play in front of a full house... I think it's the last time anybody in the lower leagues will get the chance to do that against a club like Rangers. It's something they've got to savour, and make sure they enjoy the day," said Peterhead boss Jim McInally.

  6. Up for the cuppublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 10 April 2016

    Rangers v Peterhead (15:00)

Having secured promotion to the top flight this week, Rangers fans will be absolutely delighted that their team will no longer be eligible for the Challenge Cup.

This is their fourth crack at the trophy for clubs below the Premiership and a first success would be a good way to sign off.

Standing in the way of Mark Warburton's side is part-time Peterhead, who sit second in League One.
