    Barcelona 0-2 Valencia

Luis Suarez is sharper than a brand new kitchen knife. Always alert, always sniffing for an opening. He bursts into life when Jordi Alba takes a quick throw-in, but the Valencia defence is alert too, shepherding Suarez away from goal. Bright start from Barca...

Luis Suarez is through....no he isn't. The linesman has his flag wafting on the far side. Tight but right.

Talleyrand: Who placed a curse on Barca, cos this ain't funny any more.

Briyan: For a world class team like Barca, it's amazing to see how vulnerable they are at the back. Some Atletico defending tips needed.

Dave Wood: Barca paying the price for not rotating enough this season. Players looking like the tank is running on empty.

Eastfife5: What's happened to Gary Neville's Valencia? Oh yeah, the Gary Neville part.

    Barcelona 0-2 Valencia

Barcelona straight on the front foot, as you would expect after a half-time telling off. Lionel Messi picks out Luis Suarez near the right byline, the Uruguayan pulling the ball back to Ivan Rakitic. But the Croatian drags his low shot past the near post.

    Barcelona 0-2 Valencia

Barcelona's players are sent back out early to face the unhappy home crowd. Luis Enrique's team-talk clearly being short and sharp, his words will still be ringing in their ears.

    Right then. Can they?

Aron Nyagweya: When we thought the title race was over a month ago, Barca came to the rescue and blew it wide open.

Muscab Ali: Ah I can hear the celebrations of Real and Atletico Madrid fans celebrating.

Kyle: Awful play from Barcelona surrounding the referee and trying to get a player booked. There such bad losers.

So why is it going wrong for Barcelona right now? Let us know your thoughts.

    Barcelona 0-2 Valencia

While the mood in Barcelona is morbid, Madrid will be jubilant.

Atletico breezed past lowly Granada earlier, moving level with La Liga leaders Barca on points after their 3-0 win. And Real are only a point further back.

Hold onto your hats people, a title race has just breezed in.

    Barcelona 0-2 Valencia

Barcelona look a pale shadow of the side they were a month or so ago. But let's not take any of the credit away from Valencia. They had a gameplan and have executed it perfectly. With a bit of luck thrown in for good measure.

    Santi Mina

Well, well, well. Silence at the Camp Nou. This was not in the script. Again Valencia are allowed too much space in the left channel, again Barca are punished.

Young forward Santi Mina, who you may remember bagged Valencia's late equaliser in the reverse fixture, gets the wrong side of Sergi Roberto and strokes confidently past Claudio Bravo into the bottom corner. Scenes.

Valencia will be happy to get to the break with this lead in their back pocket. Another cross from the left just evades a sliding Sergi Roberto at the far post.

Joe Lynch: Are we just going to ignore how Atletico Madrid are level points with Barcelona as things stand? If you're gonna talk about the La Liga title race and Champions League semi-finals, include the other Spanish team as well.

Sean Hill: It happened to Real last year, after 22 back to back wins, a Super Cup, Club World Cup win and narrow loss in the Spanish Super Cup. They fell to peices and lost their six-point lead over Barcelona at the top, with El Clasico being the turning point.

Oh Lionel! Messi is never going to score this pesky 500th goal is he?? Jordi Alba clips in a beautiful ball into the Valencia box, Messi timing his run to perfection. But he fails to put any power on the header, allowing away keeper Diego Alves to block.

Lionel Messi is hacked down about 25 yards out from goal. He sits on the turf, gesturing to the ref for a booking. The perpetrator doesn't see yellow, but Messi does earn a free-kick. Dangerous, very dangerous...

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 34 mins

This sums up Barcelona's frustrations. Gerard Pique clips the heels of Enzo Perez near the halfway line, earning himself a yellow card.

Valencia goalscorer Guilherme Siqueira is eager tonight. The left-back steams forward again, this time his cross - and it was a cross - squirts out of play.

By the way...Siqueira is an Atletico Madrid player after arriving on loan in January. Bet Diego Simeone is sat back and laughing like an evil Bond villain somewhere...
