Liverpool flags are flying at both ends of the St. Jakob-Park Stadium. The Liverpool fans will almost certainly heavily outnumber their Sevilla counterparts in this compact 38,000-seater stadium, with suggestions the La Liga side did not sell all of their allocation.

Daniel Woods: Much as I'd like to see Liverpool win tonight, Sevilla are in touching distance of making history. Tough decision.

Hard to believe but Sevilla were the only club in Europe's top five leagues not to win an away game in the league in 2015-16.

Indeed, their only away win in this season's Europa League came against La Liga opponents Athletic Bilbao in the quarter-finals.

    Good omen for Liverpool?

"Sevilla have owned the Europa League in recent years, with their back-to-back triumphs in the last two seasons following in the footsteps of consecutive wins in 2006 and 2007.

"They have also lifted the Copa del Rey trophy twice during that period, and will have another chance to win that competition again when they face Barcelona in next weekend’s final in Madrid.

"That’s no accident because Sevilla have fielded some fabulous players in the last decade, including Barcelona pair Dani Alves and Ivan Rakitic, and prolific strikers in their prime such as Luis Fabiano, Frederic Kanoute, Alvaro Negredo and Carlos Bacca."

Sevilla, Europa League champions for the past two seasons running, have no new injury worries - with Denmark midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli out with a long-term knee injury.

But while tonight's final in Basel will be the last match in Liverpool's season, Sevilla will play again on Sunday, facing Barcelona for the Spanish Cup, the Copa del Rey.

Extra time and pens it is then...

Have you ever drawn up two shopping lists? Perhaps when you weren't sure whether that hefty bonus for digging your boss out of a hole was going to be in your monthly pay packet or not.

Jurgen Klopp will have jotted down a couple of lists and handed them to his bosses. One for Champions League window shopping if they win tonight. The other for the slightly cheaper, poorer quality stuff at the back if they lose and miss out on European football next season.

If you were Klopp, who would be on your Champions League list? And who would be on your Plan B list?

We want three players on each. Tweet #bbcfootball or text 81111.

Looks as though they have run out of space for banners too.

Tonight just isn't about winning a trophy in Jurgen Klopp's first season at Anfield. Nope, it is also about reaching the promised land...that haven of cash, prestige and elitism...the Champions League.

Liverpool know winning the Europa will earn them a place in the group stage of next season's leading club competition.

But defeat would leave the Reds without European football - for the second time in three seasons - after they finished eighth in the Premier League.

"Everyone wants to play in the Champions League but if you look back on a career with no trophies and six seasons in the Champions League, it's not the same," said midfielder James Milner.

"It's all about winning trophies and to win any European trophy is a massive achievement."

Jordan Henderson is usually the first name scrawled onto the Liverpool teamsheet by Jurgen Klopp. But will the skipper start tonight?

Even he wasn't sure when he was asked yesterday. The England midfielder only returned from a six-week absence with a knee injury at the weekend.

"I don't expect to start," said Henderson. "I know I've been out a long time and I've only played 25-30 minutes.

"When I've been injured the team has done very well and played in some big games to get to the final.

"I'm ready to play as long or as little as the manager wants me to."

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson could make his first start since early April in the Europa League final against Spanish side Sevilla.

The England midfielder, 25, returned from a knee injury in Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw at West Brom.

Striker Divock Origi could also feature in Basel, Switzerland after returning to training following an ankle injury.

Defender Mamadou Sakho is still banned after failing a drugs test as the Reds chase their 12th European trophy.

Liverpool have not troubled the Uefa's final organising committee for a few years - since 2007 in fact. But now they are back.

A nervous scrap for gold-dust tickets, extortionate travel prices bumped up by greedy flight operators, the battle to find a room in town that doesn't have fleas....some things don't change for those fans hoping to travel out to the final.

All that angst is worth it if their tickertape-covered heroes are lifting the silverware. But it is a long trip home if they don't...

Manchester is home to a couple of also-rans. Lineker has been forced into his skimpies by Leicester's fairytale title win.

And Liverpool, now under a bespectacled German and not a toothy Northern Irishman, are gunning for their 12th European trophy....
