Sir Alex Ferguson and Steve Coppell

Steve Coppell and Alex Ferguson - the managers in charge of Crystal Palace and Manchester United back in the 1990 FA Cup final reflect.

Coppell: "I can't believe it. Haven't changed at all have I? I can't remember much of the game but the occasion was enormous for Palace. We'd been knocking on the door, coming from nowhere, and all of a sudden we had history as a club."

Ferguson: "I remember it vividly, everything that happened. Some managers never get here so you have to treat it as a special day. It was a wonderful start for me and the time we had at United."

Messrs Ferguson and Coppell stride out onto the Wembley pitch to place the FA Cup at the mouth of the tunnel. Don't touch it! It's bad luck.

'This mentality is unstoppable' reads a banner in the Palace end. That could have been Fergie's tagline.

"Some very colourful flag action from Crystal Palace's fans. They are already packed into their end - bit more space in the Manchester United end as the teams return to the dressing room to get their final instructions from Alan Pardew and Louis van Gaal."

    Alan Shearer
Ex-England captain at Wembley with BBC One

"I spoke to Wayne Rooney last summer about him dropping deeper, it's something he expected and wanted to do. He knows he's not as quick as he was. But he's still got plenty to offer by dropping into midfield. His range of passing is good, he works hard defensively, and he still expects to get his fair share of goals arriving late in the box. But he's not England's number one centre forward any more."

"Yannick Bolasie doesn't perform consistently enough for me but he is so quick and has two good feet. He can be a threat from any position, a real handful, and Palace will need him to have a big game today. Their attacking players haven't been scoring enough goals."

"I like Marcus Rashford a lot. Roy Hodgson's planning to take four strikers to the Euros but a very good game from him today could twist his arm and get him in the final England squad. What a season he's had."

  18. Martial the main man?published at 17:03 British Summer Time 21 May 2016

Anthony Martial has scored 17 goals in all competitions this season - a superb first season in the Premier League you'd have to say.

He's United's top scorer. Palace's top scorer is Dwight Gayle. With seven.

"Anthony Martial is one of those players you just love to watch, he's got a real strut about him and is so calm in front of goal. His temperament too, for a young man, is amazing. He's always so cool and calm."

  20. 'A cow can catch a rabbit...'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 21 May 2016

Crystal Palace v Manchester United (17:30 BST)

    Ruud Gullit
Ex-Chelsea manager at Wembley on BBC One

"Palace are the underdogs, but you never know; a cow can catch a rabbit... You don't see it often but it could happen... so they could still win this game.

"Van Gaal is a character. But we Dutch are not all like that... He is a teacher, and he thinks he has to teach everyone a lesson. If you have a different opinion then he goes against you. He's done it everywhere; Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Ajax and now here.

"But he has problems with senior players, that's why he brings the young players, and has such a good ability to teach them."
