    Just when Alan Pardew's dancing might have become the abiding memory of this FA Cup final, Wayne Rooney rolled back the years to ensure Manchester United got back into the game. 

    This was the captain taking the responsibility and dragging Louis van Gaal's side into contention once more. He took five Palace defenders out before delivering the cross that led to Juan Mata's equaliser.
