The action is under way again at Hillsborough as Sheffield Wednesday get the second half started.

The Owls are bidding to make it back to the Premier League for the first time since 2000 and have the upper hand as it stands.

Brighton, who last played top-flight football in 1982-83, have lost twice in the Championship play-offs in the last three seasons.

Can Chris Hughton's side turn things around in the second half?

Did you know that, since the 1989-90 season, only nine of the 26 teams finishing third in the second tier have gone on to win the play-offs?

Maybe that's not what Brighton fans, trailing at half-time at Sheffield Wednesday, want to hear.

So, Sheffield Wednesday have the advantage at the break thanks to that fine strike from Ross Wallace.

It could have been even better for Wednesday, who had a goal from Fernando Forestieri controversially ruled out midway through the half.

Can Wednesday hold on to take a lead into Monday's second leg at the Amex Stadium?

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger at Hillsborough on BBC Radio 5 live

"It's up to Wednesday to keep up this tempo. Brighton have been unlucky with two injuries early on, but Wednesday deserve their lead."

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 13 May 2016

    Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Brighton

Keiren Westwood rises high to claim the ball from another Brighton corner, and with that referee Andre Marriner blows the whistle for half-time.

Brighton finished the half strongly in injury time, putting pressure on the Wednesday defence but couldn't really test Westwood properly.

Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert manages to fizz in a low cross which is turned away and Brighton can't quite get another opening, but force a corner.

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger at Hillsborough on BBC Radio 5 live

"What a fantastic strike. I think David Stockdale was a bit unsighted, it's gone through a lot of bodies, but Sheffield Wednesday will not be worried about that."

GOAL - Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Brightonpublished at 45 mins

    Ross Wallace

Nothing is going to rule this one out.

Wednesday mount a swift counter-attack and work the ball out to Ross Wallace on the right.

The forward cuts back inside and fires a low shot from range which goes across David Stockdale and into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

That was a brilliant shot, which went narrowly past two Brighton defenders.

Owls midfielder Kieran Lee puts in a looping cross to the back post but Barry Bannan - surely the shortest man on the field - is crowded out by the Albion defence.

Moments later Wednesday left-back Daniel Pudil fizzes in a cross from the left, but it's straight at David Stockdale.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Brighton

Veteran Brighton right-back Bruno has filled in for Connor Goldson at centre-back, with Liam Rosenior filling in at full-back.

Just as well the Seagulls have centre-back Lewis Dunk back from suspension in time for the second leg on Monday.

A clean sheet would be a good return for this slightly makeshift back four.

It's a double change for Albion because of those injuries.

Centre-back Connor Goldson and striker Tomer Hemed are off, with Liam Rosenior and James Wilson coming on in their place.

Not a great deal of action in either box in the last few minutes.

Brighton centre-back Connor Goldson has gone down in the Brighton box - now he wants some treatment.

It looks like he and Tomer Hemed could both be replaced.

Some more of your thoughts on Fernando Forestieri's disallowed goal for Sheffield Wednesday...

Chris Ward: Forestieri was 20 yards offside. Good decision.

Dean Bennell: Miles offside. Great decision, but should have been given in the first place.

Ben Steiger: That was the correct call. Same passage of play, Hooper never touched the ball, so Forestieri is still considered offside.

Yarklad: When I saw the replay I thought it was offside. I think the fourth official thought the same when he saw it and told the linesman.
