Hull have looked threatening from set-pieces. It was a great save from Kasper Schmeichel but Abel Hernandez made good contact and it's in off the crossbar. It's a great finish and you have to say they've been the better side.

They've done to Leicester what Leicester did to many teams last season.

    It's a big team-talk now for Claudio Ranieri. He's quite fortunate it's 1-0.

    Adama Diomande (46+2 mins)

    Who saw this coming?

Robert Snodgrass puts in another excellent cross and Curtis Davies, who had a chance earlier, forces Kasper Schmeichel into a magnificent flying save.

The ball is still in the danger zone though, and Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez improvises brilliant to hook the ball over Schmeichel and into the net. The goalscorer is actually Adama Diomande, though, as the ball clipped his boot before looping in.

Hull currently top of the Premier League, Leicester bottom.

Robert Snodgrass whips in a superb corner into the box and Abel Hernandez gets in front of Kasper Schmeichel, but it takes a nick and goes out of play.

    Hull get another corner...

Ahmed Musa did ever so well. He read the sloppy pass, lovely bit of skill and pulls it back for Jamie Vardy. Last year everything he hit went in but he's had a couple of chances now. He's had an air-shot, had one blocked and you would fancy him there.

Oh dear, Jamie Vardy has not put his scoring boots on for the opening game of the season.

Ahmed Musa, who has been excellent in the last few minutes, nips in to pinch the ball deep in the Hull half.

He makes his way into the area and pulls the ball back to Vardy eight yards out, but the England striker blazes his shot over the bar.

Vardy then punches himself in the face for that miss. So he should.

At the other end, Robert Snodgrass drills an effort over the bar. It's taken a while, but the match has finally come alive.

Brilliant football from Leicester. The best we've seen of them but Jake Livermore made a brilliant block to stop the ball going in from Jamie Vardy.

How have Leicester not found the net from here?

Full-back Christian Fuchs plays a brilliant one-two with Ahmed Musa and the Austrian's poked effort is kept out by Eldin Jakupovic.

On the follow up, Jamie Vardy can pop into an open net, but Jake Livermore comes flying across to make a brilliant block two yards out from goal.

Riyad Mahrez on the follow-up attempts a curler but the ball goes wide of goal.

    And breathe.

Leicester haven't passed it well and I just don't think the balance is right. Riyad Mahrez always plays on the right but Demarai Gray is coming inside and the two strikers are almost holding hands with him. With no N'Golo Kante, Andy King likes to get forward from midfield so the balance isn't quite right.

More good work from Ahmed Elmohamady, this time at the top end of the pitch. The Egyptian whips in an excellent cross into the box for Adama Diomande, but Norwegian is adjudged to have fouled Danny Simpson.

Five minutes to half time and neither goalkeeper has done any work yet.

And they say Premier League players are overpaid.

Hull have played very well and Mike Phelan will be very pleased. But they have to get a goal. You have to say Leicester can't play as bad in the second half.

Sam Clucas has been excellent so far. Every time I've seen him he's been on the left but he's doing an excellent job as the anchor man in midfield. Hull have just shaded it for me

Leicester already had one full-back in the book and now the other, Danny Simpson, goes in too.

Referee Mike Dean holds up three fingers, signalling three misdemeanours, as he takes Simpson's name for a caution.

Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri is in his technical area and looks a little concerned by what he is seeing at the moment.

No sure why he is so worried though, his team are doing OK so far.

Hull caretaker boss Mike Phelan is also patrolling the touchline, in a smart suit rather than the shorts that he wore while working alongside Sir Alex Ferguson.

Former Leeds man Robert Snodgrass, from around 30 yards on the right flank, tries to catch Kasper Schmeichel out at the near post but cannot get his angles right and the ball goes wide of goal.

Wasted opportunity from a good position.
