Watford were much improved in the second half, but they were massively undone by a brilliant first 45 from Arsenal. 

The Gunners have their first win of the season. Watford are made to wait. 

One last punt for Watford as they push forward.

Behrami scoops the ball over the top to try and reach the box, but it's too casual.

Troy Deeney gets the ball caught under his feet in the penalty area and it's cleared by the Arsenal defence.

It's now Jack Wilshere's turn to go in the book next, for dissent. Biggest cheer of the game so far.

Watford earn a free-kick from about 35-yards out. It's sent into the box and although there's a few shouts of hand ball against Laurent Koscielny, the referee waves away their half-hearted appeals.

Five minutes of added time, according to the board. Arsene Wenger looks less than impressed by that.

The pace has slowed dramatically in the last five minutes.

Arsenal look content passing it around midfield and keeping possession from a much-improved Watford. 

Alexis Sanchez does go for goal with a curling effort but it's saved by Heurelho Gomes.

It's a contrasting half. Arsenal so composed and playing their football on the break in the first half. Watford have really taken the game to Arsenal in the second half.

A fifth yellow card for Watford, this time for Valon Behrami. He's booked for a foul on Theo Walcott. 

Petr Cech is busy again.

First he saves from a close-range effort from Roberto Pereyra and then he has to stop Odion Ighalo's shot. 

Yellow card and a bit of confusion.

Nordin Amrabat is booked and substituted at the same time, so he has to come back on to the pitch to be shown the yellow.

Anyway, he's been replaced by Issac Success, who has the greatest surname in football. 

Nacho Monreal has also gone off for Arsenal, and has been replaced by Kieran Gibbs.

Odion Ighalo, from about six yards out with his back to goal, tries to beat Petr Cech but it goes just over the bar. 

My word, that would have been a special goal.  

Jack Wilshere and Mohamed Elneny replace Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Arsenal's first changes.

Watford earn their second corner of the match, but Petr Cech deals with the danger.

There's a tangle of legs and Watford earn a free-kick on the right, which is whipped in by Etienne Capoue.

The delivery isn't great, and Arsenal go on the counter...

Bellerin rushes forward and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the receiver, but the England midfielder can only put the ball over the target. 

A lovely little looping shot from an on-rushing Theo Walcott almost deceives Heurelho Gomes, but the Arsenal man doesn't quite get the movement right.

Jose Holebas strides forward for Watford with purpose, but he can't stop the ball rolling out of play.

Referee Kevin Friend is having a word with the Hornets bench now, telling them to calm down. I think Walter Mazzarri got a bit over excited. 

Etienne Capoue sends Petr Cech into action in the Arsenal goal, after striking low from just outside the area.
