    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Watford were much improved in the second half, but they were massively undone by a brilliant first 45 from Arsenal.

The Gunners have their first win of the season. Watford are made to wait.

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

One last punt for Watford as they push forward.

Behrami scoops the ball over the top to try and reach the box, but it's too casual.

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Troy Deeney gets the ball caught under his feet in the penalty area and it's cleared by the Arsenal defence.

It's now Jack Wilshere's turn to go in the book next, for dissent. Biggest cheer of the game so far.

Watford earn a free-kick from about 35-yards out. It's sent into the box and although there's a few shouts of hand ball against Laurent Koscielny, the referee waves away their half-hearted appeals.

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Five minutes of added time, according to the board. Arsene Wenger looks less than impressed by that.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 89 mins

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

A sixth booking for Watford, this time for Jose Holebas.

Yellow is the theme here, from cards to clashing kits.

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

The pace has slowed dramatically in the last five minutes.

Arsenal look content passing it around midfield and keeping possession from a much-improved Watford.

Alexis Sanchez does go for goal with a curling effort but it's saved by Heurelho Gomes.

It's a contrasting half. Arsenal so composed and playing their football on the break in the first half. Watford have really taken the game to Arsenal in the second half.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 83 mins

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

A fifth yellow card for Watford, this time for Valon Behrami. He's booked for a foul on Theo Walcott.

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

    Petr Cech is busy again.

First he saves from a close-range effort from Roberto Pereyra and then he has to stop Odion Ighalo's shot.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 77 mins

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Yellow card and a bit of confusion.

Nordin Amrabat is booked and substituted at the same time, so he has to come back on to the pitch to be shown the yellow.

Anyway, he's been replaced by Issac Success, who has the greatest surname in football.

Nacho Monreal has also gone off for Arsenal, and has been replaced by Kieran Gibbs.

  12. CLOSE!published at 73 mins

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

    Bicycle kick klaxon!

Odion Ighalo, from about six yards out with his back to goal, tries to beat Petr Cech but it goes just over the bar.

My word, that would have been a special goal.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 70 mins

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Jack Wilshere and Mohamed Elneny replace Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in Arsenal's first changes.

Watford earn their second corner of the match, but Petr Cech deals with the danger.

    Double save from Petr Cech.

Jose Holebas' thunderbolt is parried by the Arsenal keeper but he quickly reacts to Odion Ighalo's follow up.

    Good pressure from Watford.

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

There's a tangle of legs and Watford earn a free-kick on the right, which is whipped in by Etienne Capoue.

The delivery isn't great, and Arsenal go on the counter...

Bellerin rushes forward and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the receiver, but the England midfielder can only put the ball over the target.

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

A lovely little looping shot from an on-rushing Theo Walcott almost deceives Heurelho Gomes, but the Arsenal man doesn't quite get the movement right.

    Nice idea, though

  17. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Watford 1-3 Arsenal

Jose Holebas strides forward for Watford with purpose, but he can't stop the ball rolling out of play.

Referee Kevin Friend is having a word with the Hornets bench now, telling them to calm down. I think Walter Mazzarri got a bit over excited.

    Roberto Pereyra

Oh, hello. Do we have a comeback on our hands?

Debutant Roberto Pereyra strikes with his left foot to get Watford off the mark.

Arsenal had failed to clear their lines and Etienne Capoue's fierce strike was blocked before it fell to Pereyra to pounce.

Etienne Capoue sends Petr Cech into action in the Arsenal goal, after striking low from just outside the area.

    Watford 0-3 Arsenal

    Super play by Hector Bellerin!

The Arsenal full-back comes scooting forward, fends off a push from Younes Kaboul, and twists and turns before pushing his effort wide.
