A dominant performance from Arsenal but Hull showed plenty of fight. Had it been 11 versus 11 it might have been a different story.

Great strike by Snodgrass. If he can score free-kicks from where he does then he shouldn't have a problem with a penalty. Hull City are back in the game.

  7. PENALTYpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Hull City 0-2 Arsenal

Hull striker Abel Hernandez has run his socks off today and he finds himself with a chance to run at the Arsenal defence. However, German international Shkodran Mustafi stands firm and confidently wins the ball back for the visitors. Hull running out of time here.

Arsenal's second goal came straight through the middle of the field - and that's been a constant theme in their match at Hull.

While the hosts (on the left) are aiming to get the ball out wide, Arsenal are keeping it central.

Abel Hernandez almost provides a said moment of quality as his bicycle kick strikes the crossbar. However, the assistant official raises his flag for offside.

Arsene Wenger makes his first change of the afternoon as Granit Xhaka replaces Santi Cazorla.

    Hull City 0-2 Arsenal

Plenty of spirit from Hull's players but it's going to take more than graft to get back in this match. Down to 10 men they need a couple of moments of brilliance.

  12. How Arsenal's second was scoredpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Hull City 0-2 Arsenal

Lots of passes, fancy flicks, typical Arsenal. A wonderfully-worked goal which has surely put this game beyond 10-man Hull.

GOAL - Theo Walcottpublished at 55 min

    Hull City 0-2 Arsenal

Theo Walcott escapes inside the penalty area and receives the ball from Alex Iwobi's clever backheel and his shot at goal is headed into the net by Hull defender Harry Maguire. Walcott's shot was probably on target but the Premier League's dubious goals committee may well mark that down as an own goal when they are next in sitting.

    Hull City 0-1

Nip and tuck so far this half. Hull seem content to sit back and try to hit Arsenal on the counter attack. It's been pass, pass, pas from the Gunners but they haven't been able to break down Hull yet.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on Granit Xhaka: "I personally prefer him as a box-to-box player because he has the engine, he has the power, he has the long pass. He likes to come deep and distribute the game, but he has the engine to have the impact with his runs.

"It's not about his quality at the moment - he adapts to the pace of the English game - and for me it's about pairs as well, who work together. Coquelin and Cazorla have worked well together.

"He will play games; every week he's stronger and better. He will have a huge impact."

Switzerland international Xhaka starts on the bench for the Gunners at the KCOM Stadium this afternoon.

  17. A half-time trip down memory lane...published at 15:52 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Daniel Cousin and Geovanni might have only knocked about in East Yorkshire for a couple of seasons, but they provided Hull fans a moment to savour in 2008 with goals in a memorable 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates.

Brazilian midfielder Geovanni, who equalised Paul McShane's own goal with a long-range thunderbolt, hung up his boots aged 33 in 2013 after a spell back in his homeland with second division club Bragantino.

Striker Cousin retired in 2013 at the age of 36 after one season back in his native Gabon with Sapins.

Hull have only taken one point from seven Premier League games against Arsenal since beating the Gunners on that day. They will need something special to get anything out this game if Arsenal turn the screw after the interval.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Hull City 0-1 Arsenal

Arsenal dominant but Hull aren't out of this yet. Could that penalty miss come back to haunt the Gunners? The longer it stays at 1-0 the more the belief will grow among the Hull players that they can get something from the game.

Certainly Arsene Wenger might face some awkward questions about why Alexis Sanchez was on penalty-taking duties rather than Santi Cazorla if there's a Hull comeback.

It was a great save. It wasn't the best penalty but it had to be saved. Obviously the goalkeeper has done his homework and he pushed the ball wide.

    Martin Keown

Jake Livermore has a good disguise with his handball but it's right in front of the referee. It's a good save and it keeps the game alive but with Hull down to 10 men, it's going to be hard for Hull now.
