West Ham are just not getting any joy at the moment despite their 61.8% possession.

Looks like the Hammers are now numbering up on Matt Phillips.

Anything to give Arthur Masuaku a helping hand, not literally though, that's what got them in this trouble.

There is no doubt that was a penalty. Yet again West Ham's defending is terrible and it's another individual mistake.

    Couldn't agree more Jason.

Nacer Chadli, West Brom's record signing, is on penalty duty.

He steps up and rolls it in the left corner, as Adrian goes the other way.

Perfect start for the home side.

Matt Phillips is having some joy down the right and Arthur Masuaku gives away a hand ball.

Free-kick to the right of the area, Phillips takes it and his cross is handled by Masuaku in the penalty area and it's a penalty to West Brom.

Keep your hands to yourself Arthur. Not his finest few minutes.

I can't see Tony Pulis keeping his job now West Brom have new owners. The arguments with the chairman, who is a mild mannered man. To come out in public and say Hal Robson-Kanu is not one of the high profile signings he wanted...I can't see a situation where the new owners come in and he keeps his job."

Is there a renewed sense of optimism at the Hawthorns?

New owners and manager Tony Pulis has committed his future, after a summer of discontent over transfers.

The 58-year-old said the only way he would be leaving is if he was sacked.

He said: "I don't think the new owners will change too much from the way Jeremy (Peace) has run the football club. They've bought into Jeremy's model....I think they are going to try to run it on similar lines.

"I'm pleased and the chairman and the new owner are pleased to get the deal done. The way it drifted and moved, you get involved in it, no question of a doubt.

"So it's pleasing for everybody that we now know and we can move on from here."

West Ham blew a 2-0 lead at home against Watford as they went on to los 4-2, their third defeat of the season.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic said: "I don't think my players under-estimate any team we have played so far. We were expecting a tough game against Watford and were right.

"We've had a good meeting and now I'm waiting for the reaction tomorrow. Mistakes will happen but we have to defend better and defend like we did last season."

Few flickers of encouragement for the away fans.

    • West Brom have picked up one win in their last 11 Premier League meetings with the Hammers (Drawn seven, lost three).
    • West Ham have won their last two away league games against the Baggies - they've never won three in succession there.
    • The Baggies have won only one of their last 13 Premier League games (D5 L7), netting just six goals in that run.

    But...

    • West Ham have lost five of their last seven Premier League games, including three successive away fixtures.
