  1. Sakho outburst over absencepublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Liverpool v Hull (15:00 BST)

Mamadou Sakho looks to be drifting further away from the Liverpool starting line-up and towards the Anfield exit door.

The 26-year-old France international defender has not appeared for the Reds since April after an initial drugs ban - subsequently lifted - and then being sent home from the club's pre-season tour of North America for several incidents of alleged indiscipline.

Manager Jurgen Klopp said in midweek that Sakho was "closer to everything" when asked about his possible comeback.

But Sakho took to Snapchat last night to claim supporters were being misled about his condition and the reason for his absence.

“I accept my situation but I can’t accept the lie. The fans deserve to know the truth," he wrote.

“Now it’s three weeks since I am fit to play games. I finish all my rehabilitation work. They don’t want me to play also with second team lol! Why, I don’t know.”

Happy birthday to you, Mike Phelan.

The Hull manager is celebrating turning 54 with a trip to Anfield.

Our friends at Opta tell us that in Premier League history, managers are more likely to lose (25) than win (18) on birthdays. Way to spoil the party, guys.

The depleted Tigers have taken seven points from their opening five games, while Liverpool are looking for their third consecutive victory in the league.

Manchester City are playing a completely different brand of football. Yes City were good last year but this is something else. He has taken players and moved them into different positions, had the audacity to do that, and it's working.

Aston Villa v Newcastle feels like it should be a Premier League game but it's the most eye-catching match in today's Championship line-up.

Villa, in 19th, have only one win so far this season and boss Roberto Di Matteo has to decide whether to include midfielder Jack Grealish, who is being investigated by the club for allegedly attending a late-night party last week. That's the 17:30 BST kick-off.

Before then leaders Huddersfield are at eighth-placed Reading while Norwich, who lie second and won at Everton in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, host Burton in the first competitive meeting between the sides.

Meanwhile, Brighton, in seventh, are home to fourth-placed Barnsley.

    Crisis? What crisis?

Jose Mourinho's mini-blip looks well and truly over. After three straight defeats and a wobbly EFL Cup win over Northampton in mid-week, Manchester United have dismantled champions Leicester in the first half at Old Trafford.

Goals from Chris Smalling, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba have given the hosts a 4-0 half-time lead.

Claudio Ranieri is going to have to give it some serious "dilly ding dilly dong" in his half-time pep talk.

"Tony Pulis has now been managing for 20 seasons. There are very few bad words spoken about him throughout the football world. I like the way he always gets a response from his new players when he goes into a new football club. I have a lot of respect for this manager.

"A lot of fans at West Brom want to see a new way of playing and even a new manager, But be careful what you wish for - Pulis ensures a stable football club."

  8. Happy 1000th match...published at 13:15 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

Stoke v West Brom (15:00 BST)

    ...to Mr Tony Pulis.

The 58-year-old started out in management in August 1992 with Bournemouth, on a plastic pitch at Preston when Snap! were at number one in the hit parade with 'Rhythm is a dancer'.

Since then he has had spells in charge of Gillingham, Bristol City, Portsmouth, Stoke (x2), Plymouth, Crystal Palace and now the Baggies.

When asked how much things have changed, the Welshman said: "Players live a different life now.

"In a world where they get everything, they've become film stars."

Pulis also admitted that seeing in the milestone at Stoke "could not have been scripted better".

  9. Give it to Giggsy?published at 13:11 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

Swansea v Manchester City (15:00 BST)

Ryan Giggs would be interested in managing Swansea if the club parted company with boss Francesco Guidolin.

Giggs, 42, left his position as Manchester United assistant manager at the start of July - ending a 29-year association with the club.

Swansea have taken four points from five games this season and it has been reported the Welsh club are considering a change of manager.

Should a change be made, Giggs is unlikely to be Swansea's only option.

We asked you lot who you reckon is going win the Premier League title this season.

A whopping 78% of you reckon the trophy's going to the Etihad Stadium...and it's hardly a surprise given Man City's current form.

Pep Guardiola's side are top of the table, with five wins from five and 15 goals to their name.

They travel to Swansea today, who are without a victory in their last four league games.
