  1. 'The coolest penalty'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Swansea 1-2 Manchester City

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain at Liberty Stadium for 5 live Sport

The defender put his arm out to shield the ball, and he does make contact with the face of Kevin de Bruyne. I don't think that was intentional but the referee gave a penalty and a yellow card.

Guidolin, the Swansea manager, is on the pitch protesting. And I think he's right - for me that's a completely incorrect call from the referee.

That was the coolest penalty. Everybody stopped, including the keeper, and Aguero just dinked it down the middle.

    Ben Gibson (65 mins)

Stewart Downing supplies a curling delivery into a ram-jammed penalty box and a stooping Ben Gibson guides his header past Hugo Loris in the middle of the scrum.

This is a test for Spurs.

Luke: Man City defence playing like they do not trust their keeper. First time in Pep's career he's in a league that needs a defence to win the title.

Shuvam Sinha: City once again looking short on form away from home. No real ball movement in midfield and the defence looks suspect.

John: City can't afford to drop points even at this early stage of the season, especially if they want to challenge on all fronts.

  6. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Middlesbrough 0-2 Tottenham

Jordan Rhodes is off the bench in place of Alvaro Negredo,  Adama Traore has replaced Gaston Ramirez and the Boro substitutes are looking keen as beans.

Traore slaloms through the Spurs midfield, bringing the crowd to their feet, but his pass is just a little too strong for the chasing Rhodes.

    Better for the hosts though.

    Joe Ledley (61 mins)

This game has come to life!

Joe Ledley makes up for his first-half error by getting Crystal Palace off the mark.

The ball falls to him on the edge of the area and he thumps it towards goal, it takes a huge deflection and goes past the keeper.

We may see this one credited to Sunderland defender Patrick van Aanholt...

    Jermain Defoe (60 mins)

Make that a double for Defoe!

He gets his second on the half-volley from inside the area, having just seen a shot parried by the keeper.

That's Defoe's fourth goal of the season.

    Swansea 1-1 Man City

Manchester City with another glorious opening.

Raheem Sterling squanders this one as he scuffs his shot from 10 yards.

Much improvement, but still work to do in that department for Sterling.

    Swansea 1-1 Man City

    Heroic from Jordi Amat.

The Swansea defender comes swooping in from way out of the frame to get a full-stretch foot onto Sergio Aguero's shot as the Argentine pulls the trigger from six yards.

The ball deflects up and over and Aguero can't believe it.

  11. CLOSE!published at 16:15 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Bournemouth 1-0 Everton

    Chance for Everton!

Ross Barkley gets his head to Seamus Coleman's cross from the right but he can't quite steer the ball on target.

Barkley and Romelu Lukaku both scored twice against the Cherries last season.

  12. 'Liverpool won't win the title'published at 16:13 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Liverpool 4-1 Hull

    Danny Mills
Ex-Man City defender on Final Score

Liverpool are entertaining going forward but defensively are a bit suspect. Against the bigger teams they might be found out, which is for me why they won't win the title this season.

  13. Penalty shoutpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Stoke 0-0 West Brom

Stoke boss Mark Hughes looks outraged as he watches Erik Pieters goes down in the area, appearing to be bundled over by West Brom's Matt Phillips, but the referee waves away their shouts for a penalty.

A corner is given instead. Hughes is livid.

    Swansea 1-1 Man City

Manchester City's commitment to playing the ball out from the back is bordering on the fanatical.

Claudio Bravo and John Stones indulge in some high-wire tiki taka as the Swansea forward line swarm around them.

They have got away with it so far, but there will be some gaffes at City this season.

  18. CLOSE!published at 16:08 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Stoke 0-0 West Brom

Close again for Joe Allen and Stoke.

The Wales midfielder dives forward and tries to head home but it's deflected over the bar by Craig Dawson, who's put his body on the line for West Brom this afternoon.

  19. 'Hull can't live with Liverpool'published at 16:06 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Liverpool 3-0 Hull

    Danny Mills
Ex-Man City defender on Final Score

Hull caretaker boss Mike Phelan has to get everyone behind the ball, sit on the edge of the box and defend for their lives because they are getting ripped to shreds.

Liverpool have been dominant and Hull, a man down, just can't live with them. The intensity Liverpool are playing with is superb. Garth asked if they could keep it up all season - Jurgen Klopp showed he could do it at Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool are so exciting. They are fast and sharp with intricate passing.

  20. Postpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Swansea 1-1 Man City

A nervy trio of early moments for Manchester City, who have been jittery at the back so far.

Nicolas Otamendi dives back and manages to direct his header away from his own goal, Claudio Bravo punches unconvincingly and Wayne Routledge almost finds Fernando Llorente with a measured ball across the face of goal.
