  2. No Toure againpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

    Swansea v Manchester City

Once again Yaya Toure is nowhere to be seen on the Manchester City teamsheet.

Boss Pep Guardiola insists he will not pick midfielder again until his agent apologises for comments about the Ivorian's omission from the club's Champions League squad.

Dimitri Seluk said the midfielder had been "humiliated" and Guardiola should apologise to him if City do not win the competition. Toure has made one appearance for City this season.

Manchester City have already won once this week at the Liberty Stadium – easing to a 2-1 victory in the EFL Cup on Wednesday – but this fixture is more significant for both sides.

Pep Guardiola is aiming for a 10th win from his first 10 games in charge of a City side who already look like serious title contenders.

Conversely, Swansea City’s tally of four points is their lowest after five matches of a Premier League season, casting grave doubts over the future of head coach Francesco Guidolin.

Ryan Giggs has already been touted as a potential successor should Guidolin get sacked. The Italian may well be looking over his shoulder today.

I cannot see Swansea making a managerial switch from Guidolin to Ryan Giggs.

If Guidolin does go then the Swans will need someone with experience who can make an impact. There does feel a negativity around this football club.

    Mark Lawrenson
    Former Republic of Ireland defender

Francesco Guidolin has only been in charge of Swansea since the end of January, and he missed a couple of games last season because of illness, so it seems a little bit early to be talking about him being on his way out.

But that is the way the Premier League works these days, and there is already speculation over Guidolin's future.

Playing Manchester City twice in three days is unlikely to help, with City boss Pep Guardiola chasing his 10th victory from 10 games in charge. I think he will get it too.

    Prediction: Swansea 0-2 Manchester City

Former PDC darts world champion Michael van Gerwen has also given his prediction, and has gone for a 3-1 City win.

  6. 'The Swans' squad is weak'published at 14:49 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

If Ryan Giggs comes in at Swansea I can understand why he would be a popular appointment.

But he'll only be as good as his players, and the Swans squad is weak. Bring in Giggs, sure, but ensure the financial backing is also there.

  7. I think it will improve - Guidolinpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

Swansea v Manchester City (15:00 BST)

But, of course, Guidolin is the man in possession of the Swansea manager's job and a win over Manchester City would certainly improve his job security.

The man himself says he feels no pressure, despite already exiting the EFL Cup and with only one win in five Premier League games.

Reports say former Wales captain Ryan Giggs and national coach Chris Coleman are potential replacements if the 60-year-old Italian were to leave.

"I know football is like this, there's no pressure for me," said Guidolin."It's my job. I know my job. We have to look forward and if we play well and we work hard, I think it will improve."

It doesn't get much easier after today, as Guidolin's Swans play Liverpool at home on 1 October then Arsenal away after the international break on 15 October.

  8. Give it to Giggsy?published at 14:45 British Summer Time 24 September 2016

Ryan Giggs would be interested in managing Swansea if the club parted company with boss Francesco Guidolin.

Giggs, 42, left his position as Manchester United assistant manager at the start of July - ending a 29-year association with the club.

Swansea have taken four points from five games this season and it has been reported the Welsh club are considering a change of manager.

Should a change be made, Giggs is unlikely to be Swansea's only option.

Francesco Guidolin is favourite to be the first manager sacked this season. The board are said to be considering his future, and I think there's often no smoke without fire.

Guidolin admits in his programme notes that if his side continue to play like they have it will be hard for the Swans to win games this season. And their next few fixtures are not easy.

Swansea make four changes from their last league fixture – a 1-0 defeat at Southampton.

Centre-back Mike van der Hoorn makes his Premier League debut in place of Federico Fernandez, full-back Angel Rangel replaces Stephen Kingsley, midfielder Leon Britton comes in for Ki Sung-yueng and winger Wayne Routledge takes the place of Modou Barrow.

Swansea XI: Fabianski; Rangel, Amat, van der Hoorn, Naughton; Britton, Cork, Fer; Routledge, Sigurdsson; Llorente.

Having made nine changes for Wednesday’s EFL Cup win at Swansea, Manchester City revert to a team showing three alterations from their previous Premier League outing, last weekend’s win over Bournemouth.

John Stones replaces Gael Clichy in defence, captain David Silva returns in place of the suspended Nolito and, as expected, striker Sergio Aguero is back from his ban and replaces Kelechi Iheanacho.

Man City XI: Bravo, Sagna, Otamendi, Stones, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero.
