    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

Celtic great Pat Bonner says if the Scottish champions lose this match it would be the most humiliating European defeat in their history.

Hard to think of one that tops it.

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:39 British Summer Time 12 July 2016

    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

Substitute Nadir Cifti almost gets that elusive equaliser for Celtic. His header from Kieran Tierney's cross is powerful and well placed, but 38-year-old keeper Navas shows youthful reflexes to spring to his left and palm the ball away from goal.

It is just not happening for Celtic tonight. At not one single point have they had this game by the scruff of the neck.

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 78 mins

    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

Leigh Griffiths smacks the crossbar for the second time this evening. The striker's powerful free-kick from 20 yards beats the keeper all ends up but crashes back off the woodwork and Nir Bitton can not turn the rebound goalwards.

12 minutes remaining for Celtic to spare their own blushes.

Surely if this scoreline stays the same it would top that dark day at Clyde in the list of Celtic's worst ever results?

Jim, Motherwell: It's only been 30 odd days since Rodgers took charge so we can't read too much into things. But Griffiths out wide, Ambrose reinstalled, Janko in front of Roberts and Allan MIA! Let's hope it improves!

Steph: Lincoln excellent - Celtic a bit of a joke and exactly at the level they deserve, playing in England really? Maybe at conference level! Loyal fans joke team.

    Anonymous: Bring back Ronny!

    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

Brendan Rodgers makes his last throw of the dice with his final change. Nadir Ciftci comes on for the ineffectual Moussa Dembele.

Ciftci has struggled to win over the Celtic fans since arriving at the club. An equaliser here would do his cause no harm at all.

  10. CLOSE!published at 70mins

    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

The two substitutes combine as James Forrest breaks into the penalty area and squares for Stuart Armstrong, but he blazes his finish over the crossbar.

Less than 20 minutes between Celtic and one of the most humiliating results in their history....

Celtic have been atrocious, but all credit to the team from Gibraltar. They have displayed commitment and no shortage of skill in earning this lead.

    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

In the build-up to this match Lincoln Red Imps captain Roy Chipolina said a victory over his side over Celtic would be arguably the greatest shock in the history of European football.

They are just over 25 minutes away from pulling it off.

    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

Is it going to be one of those nights for Celtic? Janko drives to the byline and cuts back to Griffiths in the centre of the goal 8 yards out, but his finish is deflected on to the crossbar and the danger is cleared.

Brendan Rodgers does not waste much time in making a tactical switch with a double substitution. Stuart Armstrong and James Forrest come on to replace Tom Rogic and Ryan Christie.

  18. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

Another worrying moment for Celtic as Patiño Blasco lets fly from all of 30 yards but Craig Gordon manages to scramble across to keep it out. The home side's tails are up.
