    Lincoln Red Imps 1-0 Celtic

What is going on in the Celtic defence? Calderón Vallejo powers into the box, cuts inside on his left foot and curls an effort that clears the crossbar by centimetres with Craig Gordon beaten. What a let off for the Scottish champions. They are dazed at the start of the second-half.

Well would you believe it? It's another horror moment for Efe Ambrose as he is turned one way and then the other by Lee Casciaro, who prods the ball beyond Craig Gordon to give the minnows of Gibraltar a shock lead.

Nico: The pitch is poor but I think the heat will take its toll on Hoops as game progresses.

Andy M: Well Bredan Rodgers has had 45 mins now and it's not looking good. The best managers get things going from day one. (What did he do at Liverpool except spend a lot of money?)

Star of the show so far has to be this guy. We are still establishing if he is the Imps mascot or their secret weapon off the bench.

“I think teams like Lincoln are always going to be so compact and hard to beat. So where’s the areas you can get at them – in the wider areas. Everyone is still finding their feet. That rust is still there. They’ll keep dominating possession and if they get that one goal it could change the whole shape of the game.”

I dare say young Ryan would point out he is playing on a Sunday league surface....

Not the start Brendan Rodgers would have wanted to his Celtic reign. A pretty unimpressive 45 minutes from the Scottish champions. Credit to the minnows from Gibraltar, they have worked hard to nullify Celtic. Rodgers will hope the part-timers tire as the match wears on.

Finally a little bit of quality and a glimpse of what Moussa Dembele is capable of. A pass comes at an awkward height for the French striker but he takes one touch to kill the ball, one to shift it away from the defender and fires a low drive from the edge of the box which the keeper does well to turn around the post.

Ryan Christie launches a wild cross way, way over the crossbar. He is not enjoying himself out on the left of midfield.

Brendan Rodgers cuts a frustrated figure on the sideline.

Stefan Johansen is a frustrated spectator this evening. The Norwegian is expected to be out for up to three weeks, with Charlie Mulgrew also missing from the Celtic squad for the first leg.

Tom Rogic gets a rare attempt on target for Celtic, but his shot from the edge of the box is scuffed into the ground and trundles harmlessly into the waiting arms of the goalkeeper.

The Scottish champions still searching for their groove.

  16. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 32 mins

Moussa Dembele climbs highest to nod home a cross from a free-kick, but the referee rules he fouled the home keeper in the process and chalks it off.

The first time either goalkeeper is called into action and it is Celtic keeper Craig Gordon who has to get down to smother Liam Walker's shot from inside the penalty area. Brendan Rodgers will not be happy how easily Walker skipped away from Kieran Tierney, who lost his footing on the plastic pitch.

Andy M: "Whatever it takes." Sounds like Brendan is ill-prepared and lacks a game plan. How is he so highly thought of as a manager?"

Surely the man deserves more than half an hour to prove his worth Andy?

Leigh Griffiths slaloms through a couple of challenges and puts a decent ball across goal between the defence and goalkeeper but Moussa Dembele is unable to get on the end of it. Not seen much of Demebele so far.
