    Marcelo (20 mins)

Madrid left-back Marcelo lets fly with a speculative shot. No dange...it's a goal!

A massive slice of luck for the European champions, as a 20-yard shot with the Brazilian's right peg (I thought he just used that for standing) hits Oscar and wrongfoots Asmir Begovic.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Chelsea

Antonio Conte has spoken about Chelsea not losing the aggression that he wants to see from his players - even if Cesc Fabregas went a little over the top the other day.

Cesar Azpilicueta follows the instructions top the letter, getting a ticking off from the referee for an overzealous challenge. The finger wag is out.

Dan Blackburn: Does this prove that MUFC didn't need to spend the money? Just make the right managerial choice, talent was already there.

No pedestrian pace in Michigan. Both sides have played at a decent tempo in the opening 10 minutes. Refreshing.

Nemanja Matic is in the thick of things. Now the Chelsea midfielder almost scores a calamitous own goal. He tries to cushion a Madrid cross back to keeper Asmir Begovic, who needs to spring into the air to stop the ball looping over him.

    Man Utd 5-2 Galatasaray

Five-two up with 10 minutes to go, just avoid some injuries now. And that could be a problem for Manchester United as one or two very tasty tackles come flying in.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Chelsea

Early chance for Chelsea. John Terry evades his marker to meet Willian's teasing free-kick, but Madrid keeper Kiko Casilla blocks from him and then Nemanja Matic who is also lurking at the far post.

    Juan Mata

That is lovely stuff. Juan Mata - not Jose Mourinho's favourite player if you believe what you read - starts and ends a flowing move. A Cruyff turn 30 yards from goal, he then pings it out wide to Michael Carrick, who crosses back in and Mata slides to convert.

Last time I saw so many people packed into one place was the Leeds Love Parade in 2000. Glow sticks as far as the eye could see.

Over 105,000 people are packed into the Michigan Stadium - apparently the second biggest stadium in the world. That's what our sources* tell us. And it's only a college stadium!

    Anyway... we're under way.

Manchester United are really turning it on now, they look a different side. Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford are both close to finding a way through.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Chelsea

We've all done it on football manager games. Signed too many players and left with a desperate 'offer to clubs' session.

Depending on where you read, Chelsea have got a phenomenal 44 players on their books, with 14 more already out on loan.

    Fifty-eight players!

I'm willing to suggest that Chelsea have got to move a lot of people on in the next month.

How many of these will wear the blue shirt this season?

Papy Djilobodji, Michael Hector, Nathaniel Chalobah, Juan Cuadrado, Marko Marin, Victor Moses, Lucas Piazon, Marco van Ginkel, Patrick Bamford, Dominic Solanke...

More changes as Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero, Memphis Depay, Juan Mata and Matteo Darmian all come on for Manchester United.

All over. Luis Enrique, clad like he is going paintballing in a grey sweater and matching combat trousers, strides down the touchline to offer a firm handshake to Brendan Rodgers.

The Celtic manager flashes a gleaming grin - he knows that Wednesday's Champions League return leg against Astana is the serious stuff.

Into stoppage time in Dublin. Time for one last enthusiastic toot from the kid with the plastic trumpet. Time for one more goal?

    Marouane Fellaini

In his own way Marouane Fellaini is unstoppable. Antonio Valencia chips a cross to the far post, loads to do, but the Belgian drifts his header across goal and it drops into the net.

Jose Mourinho's half-time changes have done the business. They look a far better side, much more pace and purpose about their play.

Something for the football traditionalists: you will be pleased to know (if you didn't already) that Barcelona's return to vertical Blaugrana stripes is a splendid sight.

    Yes, nothing else is happening.

    Wayne Rooney (Pen)

No messing. Hard and low and Wayne Rooney has two in a few minutes. That was all about Marcus Rashford though. Sensational.

Absolutely brilliant from Marcus Rashford! He gets the ball wide right, no danger, but skins his man, drives into the penalty area and then dinks it past the goalkeeper, who can only bring him down.
