Matt Collingwood: Why the vitriol towards the press over Allardyce? No-one put words in his mouth. Blame greed & stupidity, not the journalists

andrew johnson: All Big Sam has done is say it as it is. He's an unintentional whistle blower and has been unfairly punished.

Christian Reilly: Awful error of judgment from Sam, but untenable once you circumvent your employer's rules. Give youth a chance now. Please.

    CSKA Moscow 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs are trying to thread the needle but there are too many bodies in the middle to find a gap. They are still pushing forward, though, looking for an opener. No guts, no glory.

    Leicester 1-0 Porto

Referee Cuneyt Cakir might have had a new whistle for this game. He's certainly keen to have a toot. Free-kicks, yellow cards. The Leicester fans sing that they are going on a European tour. Feels like a big occasion.

The Mirror's John Cross says Sam Allardyce is devastated and this picture of him leaving Wembley a little earlier appears to back that up.

Both teams are giving this a proper go now and it is making for an entertaining game. Roman Eremenko briefly has a sight of goal but his control lets him down and he fouls Dele Alli, earning himself a booking.

    Leicester 1-0 Porto

There's more goals in this. Porto free-kick 25 yards or so out, just to the left of the D. Miguel Layun on duty, just curling it the wrong side of the post with Kasper Schmeichel nowhere near. Watch this space.

"I have been a big fan of goalkeeper Iker Casillas throughout his career, but he is not commanding the Porto penalty area. He has to come through the crowd and claim some of the crosses being put into the mix by Leicester."

    CSKA Moscow 0-0 Tottenham

The ball is in the net from a very neat chipped finish from Jansson. The striker had moved just a tiny bit too early, though, and the flag is up for offside.

Serie A champions Juventus have been peppering the Dinamo Zagreb goal and finally get their reward and Bosnian Miralem Pjanic pokes in from close range and record signing Gonzalo Higuain doubles the lead.

What a strike from Dele Alli. Tottenham keep an attack alive through sheer persistence from Christian Eriksen before the ball breaks and Alli smashes a shot from 20 yards against the bar. Almost a belter.

    Leicester 1-0 Porto

More noise than a rave in Leicester. It's been largely all Porto since the goal, then the Foxes almost, erm, outfox Porto with the trick that won them the Premier League. Long ball for Jamie Vardy to chase, ball across the box, but no one there to apply the finishing touch. Great game.

Glorious chance for Zoran Tosic as the ball breaks to him on the edge of the box following a weak clearing header from Jan Vertonghen. The midfielder takes a touch, picks his spot and fails to hit it bu a good 10 yards. The ball hits the stand, much to the home fans disappointment.

Almost a great chance for Spurs as the ball is pumped forward for Dele Alli, who at one stage looks to be clear of the defence but can't control the ball, which skips away for a goal-kick.
