Dundee improved dramatically in the second half but they were let down by their finishing and decision making in the final third. Rangers should have been out of sight by half-time and did not impress in the second half.

Played in by Joe Dodoo, Barrie McKay slips a shot across the face of the goal and a few inches beyond the far post. It's too much for Mark Warburton as the Rangers boss holds his head in anxious disbelief.

It's another wasted final ball by Dundee as Danny Williams over-hits his delivery into the box from the right wing with Rangers stretched.

Danny Williams' curling free-kick into the Rangers box is clutched from the Tayside air commandingly by Wes Foderingham. Time is running out for Dundee.

Joey Barton takes a heavy challenge from Danny Williams. This kills a few more seconds for Rangers. Moments later Mark O'Hara is harshly booked for catching the same Rangers midfielder with his outstretched foot.

Dundee, you feel, sense they can get a point from this match. From a long ball down the right, Faissal El Bakhtaoui gets clear of Danny Wilson but the Rangers defender recovers calmly.

Danny Wilson slices a clearance over his own crossbar as a sense of panic increases in the visitors' defence. Joey Barton calms things down as he guides the ball to safety but he then concedes possession to Yordi Teijsse. However, Rangers eventually clear the danger.

BBC Scotland football pundit Steven Thompson: "In the first half, James Tavernier had six or seven crosses. I can't think of one in the second half. Dundee have managed to solve that problem and it has been a much more even contest."

From the corner kick for Dundee, Yordi Teijsse wins the header and is just a few feet off the target. Rangers look unconvincing at corner kicks.

Niko Kranjcar's corner from the left is sliced away from the target by Danny Wilson. Dundee launch an attack as Faissal El Bakhtaoui makes a dart in towards the goal from the right wing.

The match is all a bit start-stop at the moment with all these changes to personnel. Dundee send on Yordi Teijsse for Michael Duffy and Faissal El Bakhtaoui replaces Rory Loy. For Rangers, Mark Warburton removes Forrester and sends on Michael O'Halloran.

The Dundee players appeal to referee Craig Thomson to book Harry Forrester for a second time. He caught a Dundee player on the foot after first touching the ball with a sliding challenge. Moments later, Danny Williams almost puts the Dark Blues level but somehow Lee Wallace and Wes Foderingham do enough to prevent the equaliser.

Rangers' right-back James Tavernier sends the ball out to Barrie McKay who shows some lovely footwork out on the left wing to create space for his cross, which is delivered far too strongly.

It's a double substitution for Rangers. Striker Joe Dodoo and midfielder Niko Kranjcar come on for Kenny Miller, who applauds the travellling fans on his way off, and Andy Halliday, who looks less than delighted.

Rangers midfielder Niko Kranjcar has been out warming up and could be about to make an entrance at Dens. Rangers boss Mark Warburton can no doubt sense that Dundee are getting a better grip on the match in this half.

Paul Hartley makes a change for Dundee, with the former Inverness player James Vincent making way for Nick Ross, also once of Caley Thistle.

Just as Dundee enjoy a period of possession, Rangers break through Jordan Rossiter and Kenny Miller, the latter sending a lovely disguised reverse pass down the left wing. Dundee concede a corner.
