Steven Naismith has only scored twice for Norwich since his January move from Everton but he comes close to adding to that tally when he turns Ivo Pinto's cross over the bar.

He tried to curl it into the top corner but couldn't get it right.

Daryl Murphy is still causing all sorts of problems for the Norwich defence and Canaries keeper Michael McGovern is needed to come out to clear any danger of Grant Ward's ball through.

Norwich go straight down the other end and Ivo Pinto falls over theatrically in the penalty area under the tiniest of nudges from Freddie Sears.

Ipswich striker Daryl Murphy wins a corner off Timm Klose, but yet again Kevin Bru's delivery is cleared easily. With some players that can really head a ball in Murphy and Christophe Berra, Bru's balls in have to be much better than that.

Cameron Jerome has taken a lot of stick for not finding the net enough in the Premier League, but that's his second of the season for Norwich after signing a new three-year deal in the summer.

It came just shortly after his manager Alex Neil was told to calm down after kicking a water bottle in frustration. How quickly things change, eh?

Do Norwich deserve it? No. Do they care? Absolutely not.

It was accuracy personified from Jerome. He's done nothing in the game, but it's a composed and accurate finish.

Ipswich full-back Jonas Knudsen puts a ball deep into the penalty area and finds his mate on the other side Luke Chambers high up the pitch, but his header back into the area is cleared by a Norwich defender.

Grant Ward is being given a lot of space down the right-wing and his cross into Dangerous Daryl Murphy, as he should be known, is headed just over the bar by the big Ipswich forward.

Ipswich win a corner after a vital interception by Youssouf Mulumbu, but Kevin Bru's delivery doesn't beat the first man.

That's my biggest bug-bear when it comes to set-pieces. Not that I would do much better, mind. I'd probably slip over taking it and injure myself.

Norwich manager Alex Neil has been on a vast search for a new striker this summer to take all the weight off Cameron Jerome's shoulders and so far you can see why.

They have barely created anything in the final third and at the moment Ipswich are in control.

At the moment, Timm Klose just cannot cope with Daryl Murphy. That was a chance, he really should have got a shot off. And no penalty for me, he'd lost control of the ball.

Norwich have won five of the last six meetings between these two sides, but have started on the back foot here.

This man will be very pleased with his side's intensity at the start to this match.

Christophe Berra is the next Ipswich player to have an effort on goal, but he can't get his header on target. Not many would have anticipated this going into the match.

Ipswich striker Daryl Murphy had a goal ruled out for offside in their draw at Wolves in midweek, something that Mick McCarthy was not happy about.

He has a chance to make amends when he turns past Timm Klose, but the Ipswich forward slides the ball wide of the post.

He looked offside, but that's evidence of the threat of Christophe Berra, who is a real aerial presence for Ipswich.

Ipswich Town have the ball on the net very early on when a free-kick is pumped into the area and lands at the feet of Jonathan Douglas, but the midfielder is ruled offside.

Very tight call.

Portman Road is paying tribute to their former striker Dalian Atkinson, who died earlier this week after being shot by a Taser by police.

Atkinson came through the Ipswich youth ranks before going on to play for Aston Villa among others.
