    West Ham 0-0 Sunderland

Sunderland making a mess of things in their own half as Lamine Kone wins the ball only then to hesitate and watch the diminutive Manuel Lanzini pinch it off him.

John O'Shea brings down the Argentine and West Ham, through Dimitri Payet, work the ball on the floor into the box for Mark Noble. A poor effort from the skipper is blocked by Duncan Watmore, though.

    West Ham 0-0 Sunderland

    Great football from West Ham.

They break at pace with Manuel Lanzini collecting a Dimitri Payet pass just inside the visitors' half before slipping a through ball in to striker Simone Zaza.

The Italian gets it onto his right foot inside the area, but Sunderland recover well and the shot is deflected off a defender's foot for a corner.

    West Ham 0-0 Sunderland

Another shot on goal for West Ham and this time it's Edimilson Fernandes on his first Premier League start.

The Switzerland Under-21 international gallops forward and swings a left-footed effort towards goal, only to see it strike John O'Shea.

Sunderland clear, but it's not sticking in the West Ham half.

    West Ham 0-0 Sunderland

Well, last time out at the London Stadium Dimitri Payet did his best Ricky Villa impression when waltzing through the Middlesbrough defence to score a wonder goal.

The tricky Frenchman is at it again as he skips between several Sunderland defenders, but can only fire a right-footed effort straight at Jordan Pickford.

    West Ham 0-0 Sunderland

Winston Reid and Javier Manquillo engage in a bit of wrestling in the box but the referee waves it away.

Sunderland's defensive approach so far seems to be throw your body in front of the ball and hope for the best.

    West Ham 0-0 Sunderland

West Ham are looking to make the most of this huge pitch at the London Stadium. Angelo Ogbonna flights a long, diagonal ball out to Michail Antonio and it's eventually worked back across field to the left.

Edmilsion Fernandes finds Dimitri Payet, who creates enough space on the edge of the box to unleash a shot, but the Frenchman curls narrowly wide.

    West Ham 0-0 Sunderland

Michail Antonio runs on to a Dimitri Payet pass on the right flank and whips in a teasing ball. Simone Zaza jumps but it's headed behind by Sunderland's Lamine Kone.

I fancy Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe to score against his old side, but I am backing the Hammers to come out on top.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic: "We have one win from four home games in the league. Opponents are hoping to capitalise on that in a new stadium. It is our home and we need to change that.

"You can talk and analyse, but the best thing to get the confidence back is to win a game - and we kept a clean sheet as well. You can move away from the bottom with a few wins."

Manager David Moyes on Jermain Defoe's comment that Sunderland have "gone backwards": "I actually thought that Jermain's piece was a wee bit taken out of context, but in saying that, where the team finished at the end of last season to where we have started this season, yes, you'd have to say that.

"The same players were in the same position this time last season, but I do think compared to where they finished I'd say yes, because they were winning a few games and picking up some points. At the moment, we're not doing that."

Slaven Bilic's switch to a back three at Palace paid off, with West Ham looking better at both ends of the pitch. Aaron Cresswell was particularly impressive on his first appearance of the season, which will only add to the Hammers' frustration over his suspension.

Sunderland have lost their identity according to chief executive Martin Bain. He has backed David Moyes as the right man to help rebuild the club, while Moyes says the fans are 'understanding' of their current situation after meeting supporters' groups this week.

He also believes he's under no more pressure than any other Premier League manager; might that change with defeat on Saturday?

West Ham are without the suspended Aaron Cresswell, sent off at Crystal Palace last week, with Edimilson Fernandes replacing him.

That's the one change for the Hammers, with Slaven Bilic sticking as closely as possible to the side that won at Selhurst Park.

There are two changes for Sunderland as David Moyes brings in Lamine Kone and Steven Pienaar for Papy Djilobodji and Paddy McNair.

West Ham have far from settled into life at their new home, but surely Slaven Bilic will be targeting this game against the Premier League's bottom side as an opportunity to collect only the Hammers' second league win at the London Stadium.

What Sunderland boss David Moyes would do to pick up even one victory.

The Black Cats are winless after eight games for the second successive season, becoming only the second side to suffer two such starts in a row in top-flight history after Bury in 1905 and 1906.

If Moyes' side are to add to the two points they have accrued in the Premier League so far this campaign, then they may well be reliant on the goals of former West Ham academy product Jermain Defoe.

The former England international has scored six times against his old club, and has netted four of Sunderland's six Premier League goals so far this term.
