Plymouth, Carlisle and Doncaster sit in the automatic promotion spots in League Two, and all three clubs have home fixtures on Saturday afternoon.

Plymouth host Colchester, Carlisle have Crawley while struggling Wycombe make the trip up to Doncaster.

Propping up the table are Newport, and the Welsh club are already five points adrift of safety. They travel to Lancashire to face Accrington Stanley in desperate need of a result.

Leaders Scunthorpe play host to struggling Swindon, while Bolton welcome Port Vale as they look to make it five successive victories in the league.

Sheffield United have had an odd season, losing three of their first four games before going on a ten-match unbeaten run, and they face MK Dons, who are struggling to adjust to life outside of the Championship and sacked manager Karl Robinson on Monday.

It's not just not a busy day in the Premier League. In the Championship there are nine 15:00 BST kick-offs, followed by Blackburn v Wolves at 17:30.

Preston play host to leaders Newcastle - just four days after they were thrashed 6-0 by the Magpies at St James Park in the fourth round of the EFL Cup.

"I'm not going through that again on Saturday," said Preston manager Simon Grayson - his fans will be hoping he's good on his word.

Elsewhere, second-place Brighton host Norwich, who sit fourth, Steve McLaren's struggling Derby host Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield make the trip down to London to face Fulham.

The transfer window may not be open for another two months, but the gossip never stops.

In today's gossip column there is the hugely speculative story that Man Utd will make "a £135m bid for Luis Suarez", along with a potential signing for Manchester United and Sergio Aguero not going to Tottenham, in case you were wondering.

More realistically, Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri, 29, wants to make his loan spell at Sevilla permanent in the summer and Italian side Roma are interested in signing 22-year-old Manchester United winger Memphis Depay in January.

It is that time of year when the clocks go back tonight and mornings are cold and dark, afternoons are cold and dark and evenings are cold and dark.

What everyone needs is something to laugh at. So I present to you former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra dressed up as a panda dancing and then giving a 'no to racism' message.

    Enjoy.

  9. Why Sunderland need to stop feeling sorry for themselvespublished at 09:43 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

We are almost a quarter of the way through the Premier League season and some teams at the bottom seem to be turning things around after making a bad start.

Stoke and West Ham, for example, have started to climb away from the relegation zone but the biggest worry for Sunderland fans is that their side do not look remotely capable of doing the same.

I know the Black Cats have got out of trouble before having found themselves in a similar situation but this time, after picking up only two points from their first nine games, things look really desperate for the only top-flight team without a win.

Click here to read more of Chris Sutton's thoughts on Sunderland's relegation battle.

  10. Tough times for Sunderlandpublished at 09:40 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

We've talked about the situation at the top of the Premier League, but what about at the bottom?

Sunderland are the only team in the division without a win and they will be bottom tonight unless they record at least a three-goal win over Arsenal, which, let's face it, you would be extremely brave / foolish to bet on.

Elsewhere, Hull will lift themselves out of the bottom three with a win at Watford, with Middlesbrough the only other side in the bottom six in action today, as they entertain Bournemouth.

Will Manchester City end their six game streak without a victory? Will David Moyes finally have something to smile about in Sunderland? Who will come out on top in the battle of two of last year's high-flyers, Tottenham and Leicester?

And more importantly, can you beat BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson and England rugby league captain Sam Burgess?

  12. The eight C's of the Premier League seasonpublished at 09:32 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

Guardiola, Mourinho, KloppImage source, Getty Images

It's been another unusual Premier League season so far, with the idiom that anybody can beat anybody becoming more pertinent by the fixture.

So how do you describe it? Difficult, I'd say. How about if you were only given eight words? And they all had to begin with the letter 'C'.

That's exactly what BBC Sport chief sports writer Tom Fordyce has done...

  13. The fantasy football review...published at 09:28 British Summer Time 29 October 2016

Nearly a quarter of the way there

So given all this talk today of us passing a quarter of the season by Monday, how is your Fantasy Football team looking? We all know you're willing rival players on in the hope of points.

The below is the team of the season so far. I guess a handful of names you may have expected to feature but Etienne Capoue has done the business for those of you out there who hunted a bargain in August.

It's good to see Jermain Defoe defying age stereotypes too (and defying the fact Sunderland are not great thus far), he's the third highest-scoring striker in terms of points. A bargain at £7.3m.

There are three Bournemouth defenders in the top-10 list of defenders in the game. Bargains I tell you, bargains.

If you have picked this below team you are laughing. If you have a striker who hasn't scored in two months then you might not be. Yes, Negredo, I'm looking at you.

A few things to listen out for later on.

So as we know, Arsenal could go top of the league by the time Manchester City kick a ball today. If they do then David Moyes - odds on with the bookies to be the next Premier League manager out of a job - will be in even deeper trouble at Sunderland.

You can listen to Arsenal's trip to the Stadium of Light on BBC Radio 5 live (kick-off at 12:30 BST) and then live commentary will switch to West Brom v Man City at 15:00 BST.

And there's more. BBC Radio 5 live is also the place to go to for live commentary of Crystal Palace v Liverpool in the late kick-off, which gets going at 17:30 BST.

The Daily Star is trying to create some tension between Mauricio Pochettino and Claudio Ranieri by claiming that the Tottenham boss has not congratulated Ranieri on Leicester's title win last season.

Spurs and the Foxes were challenging for the title, which Leicester won with Tottenham falling away late on to finish third.

Both sides meet today at White Hart Lane. It may be feisty.

As always there are two sides to the story.

The Daily Mirror says Wayne Rooney may be leaving Manchester United, the Daily Express says he is going nowhere.

"There is no problem at all but you need stories to sell papers," Jose Mourinho told journalists yesterday.

"[Rooney] is a top player, a very important player for us," added the United boss. "He is going nowhere - we like him, he likes us. He's not happy because he's been on the bench but he is even unhappier when he's injured."
