Hang on, this isn't over yet. Palace winger Wilf Zaha stings the fingers of Liverpool keeper Loris Karius with a 20-yard drive.

    Brilliant finish by the Brazilian.

What can you say? It looked so simple, but he had to be very good to do it.

The technique was faultless by Firmino. What wasn't faultless was his thinking because he took his shirt off straight away and of course, that's a booking.

Game over? Liverpool finally give themselves breathing space. Jordan Henderson slices open the Palace defence with a sumptuous sliding pass, laying the chance on a plate for Roberto Firmino. And the Brazilian snaffles it. He dinks over Steve Mandanda with a cool finish.

Wilfried Zaha asks another question of ref Andre Marriner. Again he gets a negative response. The Palace winger tries to take on Emre Can, is levered off the ball and reckons it is a foul.

The standard of football is very high. I think Liverpool have the best dribbling player in the league in Coutinho, and I also think they have the quickest player in Mane.

Finally Andros Townsend is given the nod by the fourth official. The England winger replaces Lee Chung-yong, who was rather surprisingly (in my eyes at least) picked ahead of his team-mate today.

Half a chance for Liverpool, who have not been able to find as much attacking space since the break. Sadio Mane bursts into the Palace box, looks up but then makes the wrong decision with his cutback. Palace clear.

Is an exciting game or good defence more important?

Tim G: Doesn't matter how many goals Liverpool concede, as long as they score more. I prefer a 5-4 over a boring 1-0.

Andy Hall: If the Premier League stays this tight Liverpool's inability to not concede may cost them. Breathtaking going forward, paper thin at the back.

Have you say at #bbcfootball. What's more important - an exciting game, or a good defence?

Klopp really demands every ounce of sweat out of his players, he's turned them into a very fit team.

Palace look to be preparing a change. Andros Townsend has his shirt off anyway. I don't think it is because of the warm autumnal Croydon air.

Yohan Cabaye is the next man to see yellow. Think it was for some verbals. Cabaye, by the way, seems to have shunned the peroxide blond highlighted hair look - the footballer's favourite - and gone for a shade of copper.

  12. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 59 mins

Palace reckon they should have a penalty. Hmmm. Not for me on first look. Wilf Zaha was the man who thought he was fouled as he slalomed into the Liverpool area. Andre Marriner waves him up.

Terrific play by Benteke and McArthur, Benteke didn't get his full weight into the shot though.

Karius was in a good position but he fumbled it - we haven't seen any goals yet in this second half, it's a terrible half!

Christian Benteke spurns an excellent chance against his former club. The Palace striker should score. He has time and space in the left side of the Liverpool area after being picked out by Yohan Cabaye but curls straight at Loris Karius.

Ed in the Wirral: Liverpool have gone full Keegan! You never go full Keegan!

Simon in Cheltenham: The philosophy of LFC for the past few seasons has been, we may leak goals but we'll try and will score more than you! As long as we keep the front three fit, Henderson and Wijnaldum too. I think we'll be fine.

Gian in Stafford: Does anyone know the record for the most goals conceded by a team with a positive goal difference by the end of the season?

Not off the top of my head Gian, but I'm guessing you think Liverpool could threaten it regardless?

Oh naughty! Yohan Cabaye and Philippe Coutinho tangle on the touchline, the Palace midfielder maybe dishing out a bit of afters. Coutinho thinks so, judging by his inquisitive look up at the officials.

Liverpool's best chance since the break. Sadio Mane races clear of a static Palace defence, latching on to a sliding pass and finding himself with only Steve Mandanda to beat. But the Palace keeper wins the duel. The Frenchman uses his outstretched size 10 to deny the Reds forward.

That's a tremendous effort from Benteke on the half-turn, he turned and twisted and first that shot in, but good save from Karius.

Klopp will give Karius every opportunity to succeed, but he does look very nervous.

    Crystal Palace 2-3 Liverpool

All the pre-match chat was about Christian Benteke and, remarkably, in a game with five first-half goals, he's hardly been involved.

But now he is. A thumping effort from Palace £27m man forces Loris Karius into a reflex save, then he goes close with a towering header from the set-piece.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 48 mins

Emre Can is the first name scrawled into Andre Marriner's notepad. A late lunge on Yohan Cabaye gives the Liverpool midfielder that dubious honour.
