    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

    Tom English
BBC Sport Scotland at Dens Park

It's easy to look at Dundee's recent results, and the league table, and criticise Paul Hartley for the way things are going. Far too easy. In losing Kane Hemmings and Greg Stewart in the summer they lost goal and assist machines. Dundee scored 53 league goals last season and Hemmings and Stewart scored 30 of them. That's 56% of their Premiership goals. Most managers would struggle after losing such firepower.

  2. Three v onepublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

Former Aberdeen defender Willie Miller on Dundee: "They've got three centre-backs marking Dembele. They've got to make sure one of them is picking him up."

  3. CLOSE!published at 12:27 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Scott Brown embarks on a driving run from his own half, taking Celtic up into Dundee territory and feeding Scott Sinclair. The former Manchester City man cuts inside onto his right foot and curls an effort from the left-hand corner of the area towards goal, but Scott Bain flies to his left to get two strong hands behind it to palm the ball away.

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Celtic on the front foot in the opening minutes as you would expect, but Dundee manager Paul Hartley can take solace in the fact his team have held out longer than Manchester City did before conceding to the Scottish champions.

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Scott Sinclair receives the ball, spins away from Darren O'Dea and the Dundee man brings him down to concede a free-kick on the edge of the box.

    Danger signs already for Dundee...

  9. Not broke, don't fixpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Dundee v Celtic (12:15)

"I don't make so many changes where I don't need to. The team's in good momentum.

"We've started the season very well. We don't need to do anything different today, really.

"A lot of our victories in the league have come from a base of intensity and pressing and defensive organisation and that earns us the right to have the ball more often than not and create chances."

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Radio Scotland

  10. 'We're going to have a go'published at 12:09 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Dundee v Celtic (KO 12:15)

“We know we’re up against a good team who had a fantastic result midweek, but hopefully we can go and impose ourselves on the game.

"We are going to go and have a go – why not? Nobody expects anything from us but as a manager I expect a lot from my team.

"We’ve had a bad spell of late so we’re going to come and have a go today.”

Dundee manager Paul Hartley on BBC Radio Scotland

    Kilmarnock v Aberdeen (15:00)

The second-top Dons arrive in Ayrshire seeking a fourth straight win or at least to extend their unbeaten run to five games.

Killie, who have lost their last 10 meetings with Aberdeen, have gone five games without a win and lie second bottom of the table.

Their last victory over the Dons at Rugby Park came in December 2011.

  13. Gomis and O'Hara start for Dark Bluespublished at 11:47 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Dundee v Celtic (12:15)

Defender Kevin Gomis and midfielder Mark O'Hara go straight into Dundee's starting line-up on their return from suspension.

Yordi Teijsse starts instead of on-loan forward Michael Duffy, who misses out against his parent club.

Danny Williams comes into midfield along with O'Hara as recent signing Tom Hateley is unavailable through injury, while Nick Ross drops to the bench along with centre-half Julen Etxabeguren.

Ross County v St Johnstone (15:00)

Saints have not won on their last two outings but were unbeaten against Saturday's hosts in their four meetings last season, including a win on their last visit to Victoria Park.

County, who are two places and two points behind fourth-placed St Johnstone, are hoping to end their run of four games without a victory. They have drawn their last three.

    Rangers v Partick Thistle (15:00)

Having started the season with five straight wins, Thistle find themselves at the foot of the Premiership after six games without a win.

Rangers lie seventh after only one win in their last five outings - and that was in the League Cup against Championship side Queen of the South.

It is almost exactly eight years since the two Glasgow sides last met - a 2-1 League Cup win for Rangers at Firhill on 24 September 2008.

Their last meeting at Ibrox came six months earlier, when they drew 1-1 in the Scottish Cup before Rangers won the replay.

Thistle have not beaten Rangers in 23 meetings since a January 1993 win at Firhill, while the Maryhill outfit's last victory at Ibrox came in January 1982. That's 14 visits without a win.

Hamilton, who are two points and two places behind Inverness Caley Thistle in 10th place, are hoping to end a run of three games without a victory.

Caley Thistle arrive looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games and having won on their last six visits to New Douglas Park.

  18. Moussa can't misspublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Dundee v Celtic (KO 12:15)

Much of the attention today will be on Celtic's man of the moment Moussa Dembele.

The 20-year-old striker has certainly proved a hit since moving to Parkhead in the summer from Fulham. A hat-trick in the 5-1 demolition of Rangers secured his place in the hearts of the Celtic faithful, and an outstanding Champions League performance in the 3-3 draw with Manchester City on Wednesday, which included two goals, only added to the youngster's burgeoning reputation.

With 12 goals in 16 games this season, Dembele has been tipped for a call-up to Didier Deschamps' France squad.

What can Dundee do to stop the on-fire frontman today?

  19. Simunovic replaces Tourepublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Dundee v Celtic (12:15)

As suggested by manager Brendan Rodgers, veteran central defender Kolo Toure is rested after his efforts against Manchester City in midweek - but only to the Celtic bench.

However, the Northern Irishman has also been true to his word about seeking continuity and the arrival into the side of Jozo Simunovic in place of Toure is the only change from the side that starting that fine 3-3 Champions League draw.

It means that Craig Gordon retains his place in goal ahead of Dorus de Vries.
